About Me
I've loved stories and have considered myself a storyteller for as far back as my memory reaches. Books were powerful, magic passports to another time and place. Like many children, I had several imaginary worlds I could visit at will, each populated with a mix of larger-than-life characters. It was rather like choosing a novel to play in for the afternoon.
When I was in 5th grade, my family moved to Springfield, Missouri, from the Chicago area. The next year this new girl named B.K. came into our class, and after a brief burst of competition, we became fast friends. We were always making up stories, writing plays and making adventure or comedy films. Playing French Underground was a favorite activity. Kind of odd for girls, I realize, but we were bent on saving the world from tyranny.
My career has pretty much been more of the same. I’ve been a book editor, a staff writer for national magazines, a tv writer, and internet editor, independent film producer. But always, I’ve been a storyteller. Biographies of people who have taken a stand, Spidey Super Stories, nonfiction books, plays, humor, inspiration.

And now, thrillers! Writing the Eden thrillers about Army chaplain Jaime Richards for St. Martin's Press has taken B.K. and I on a challenging and unexpected journey.
