About Me
I have been a Seeker since I was eight years old when a foreign question entered my mind as I sat on the "john" at Grant Elementary School in Richmond California. I had run into the Girl's bathroom to seek refuge in an innocent game of "Boys Chase the Girls" and realized I really did need to use the facility as all the running had caused me to drink a lot of water. As I sat there catching my breath, a thought came into my mind--a strange and foreign thought that seemed to have an energy all its own--with a deep contemplative feeling. It came in the form of a question:
"What Is The Meaning Of Life?"
I knew immediately it wasn't my own thought. It had come through me somehow; and, in so doing, made itself known to me. Of course, I knew I wasn't supposed to have the answer. What was blowing my little eight-year-old mind was that I now HAD THE QUESTION--a question I couldn't share with any of my squealing, cavorting, play-loving friends out in the yard, or my parents, or my grandma, not even with my Sunday School teacher.
I left that bathroom a very different child. Yes, I rejoined the game and screeched and laughed out loud as only eight-year-olds can; but now there was an awareness behind the burgeoning personality known as "Mad" among her friends. I had a secret thought I knew I could not share with anyone. It was mine to hold, to ponder, and explore for the rest of my life. And that's what I've been doing. The time has come to share my explorations with the world; and this Journal is just that--Sharing Grace.
