I read your profile. When the heck do you have time for Beliefnet!? =0) I'll bet I've read LOTR a dozen times, though not in recent years. This may sound silly, but I loved the books so much I'm afraid to watch the movie for fear they've mangled it--much as Disney typically does with the books they turn to film. Probably one of the most faithful screen adaptations of a book (in my view, anyway) was William Goldman's Princess Bride. Loved that movie!! On the other hand, when I saw The Black Cauldron, a Disney movie "loosely" based on Lloyd Alexander's Prydain series which includes a book titled The Black Cauldron, I was so angry, I hardly said a word all the way home. Given that you list Peter Jackson as one of your favorite people, I would guess you found the movies pretty good! Looking forward to getting to know you on BB. Take care and be well. Bob
