About Me
i cuss a lot. it doesn't make me a bad person. the stick in your butt, however, does make you a bad person. think about that.
someone said "the texts are a finger pointing at god; when you have seen god, why do you still look at the finger?" i think the same can be said for religion in general.
i think that islam is the best religion for me. i don't think islam is necessarily the best religion for everyone else and i don't think that following islam is the only way a person can grow nearer to god.
i think that tolerance among the different faiths is not good enough; we need to have a genuine esteem for one another. and this is easy. all it requires is that you not be a jerk. when you see how people can be filled with good intentions by their religious faith, how it can move them to acts of selfless generosity that make our world a better place, then a genuine esteem for the religious traditions that inspired such generosity is the natural response. this is why i find myself continually moved by the inherent beauty and goodness of wiccanism, judaism, christianity, buddhism and virtually every other religion with which i am familiar. but so many people don't want to think about that. they'd rather focus on petty disagreements. why do people want to be jerks?
