About Me
Hello! My net name is Kal. I was born to a traditional and conservative protestant family, and raised with the same type of friends. Around the age of thirteen, I became a vegetarian, and began to look into spiritual matters.
I am no longer a conservative, and I am no longer Christian. I left the faith because I felt too many facts were being left out. I was never told in any church how the Bible came to be, how the Church came to be, and other important beliefs I feel I should have been told about. I also wish I would've been told about the many other stories of Jesus, such as the differing opinions on his death [From the Ahmadiyyah's to the Gnostic's] and the different stories of his life [from the Qur'an to the New Testament's Apocrypha].
I looked into other faiths without having one of my own, and as an earnest, but skeptical, seeker. I now admire many religious traditions, and I form my beliefs based on the study of them.
I believe Science is the God-given tool we have to interpret our scriptures with. As such, I accept such political beliefs as civil unions, pro-choice movements (because I favor education to reduce abortion instead of legislation), the need to end Global Warming, and Evolution being the only creation theory taught in schools until somthing better comes along.
I claim to be of the Bahá’í Faith, because it is the faith closest to my personal convictions. I have not formally become a member of any religious tradition because I am still conflicted about which one feels right. I believe in a Universal God that is manifest in creation and exists outside of it who inspires Messengers to come throughout the ages in order to progressivly guide humanity. Because of this, I find my values best manifest in the Bahá’í Faith.

I am completley tolerant of the faiths of others. I describe myself as liberal, in that I question anything and everything, because the Things of God have no need to hide from skepticism is they are truly of God. Because I question everything, I accept that I am probably wrong about most things, which means anyone else in the world could be closer to the truth than I. In this regard, I am very tolerant to the political views and faiths of others. If I am the one to close dialogue, or resent it, than I am not doing my part to encourage truth to manifest. Openly communicating is the only way problems of thought can be solved; declaring one side a victor of truth while the other is the champion of lies, or refusing to even hear an opposing argument only serves to lead to a more hostile society.
