this site just showed up in my e-mail one day so i opened it and checked it out.  well low and behold the story, let's say kind of hit home for me.  it was the story of the girl on airplane heading to a rehab for drug abuse and she shared her story with a older gentleman sitting next to her on the plane and he did not judge her, he offered her guidance and his hospitality.  she later , many years later sent him a letter telling him how he was a very big part of her recovery and him just listening and not judging her stuck in her heart.  they stay in contact and she has changed her life....I believe the story was called "airplane angel".  well my part is i am a recovering addict, 3 yrs ago i became very addicted to painkillers due to a broken collar bone and then moved on to abusing alcohol and other prescription meds.  i am still and always will be in recovery and my "airplane angel" is my counselor  i found and finally got to be one on one with about 6mnths ago, she has changed my life.  i am doing great and feel great and opening that e-mail that somehow mysteriously showed up to me from beliefnet has helped me find my spirituality again, especially that first story i read.  i really think it was sent from my higher being which i choose to call God. so this is part of my story, thank you beliefnet you also play a big part in saving my life along with my family to which you can see i have been blessed. I have allot more to share, because addiction is very tricky and i used it not only to cover physical pain but also to cover and hide emotional pain that i didn't want to deal with from my early childhood....so anyone who can relate and has any questions about me please feel free to ask, i love to share now and hope to start school in the fall to become a C.A.S.A.C-(certifies alcohol and substance abuse counselor). once again thanks for letting me share.
