About Me
Years ago when I had five small children and a handyman special house (which did not come with a handyman), I decided to try freelance writing for magazines and newspapers, to earn some extra money to cover all that bilious-mustard paint. I wrote humor, devotionals and several books on family life that no one bought.
I was almost ready to look for a "real" job (one which sends you a check every week) when my son had an amazing spiritual experience: he was stranded with a friend and they were rescued by a tow truck driver, who drove them to a place of safety and then disappeared. (Check my web site for my short "talk" on this miracle: www.joanwanderson.com ) After much prayer and investigation, I concluded that this helpful tow truck driver might have been an angel, and I began looking for other stories. In 1992, my book Where AngelsWalk was published, and immediately became a best-seller (it is in its 33rd printing as we speak, and was on the New York Times best-seller list for over a year) and it opened an entirely new career for me, something that God had been preparing me for during those earlier years of failure and frustration. My job, as I saw it, was to bring true stories of hope and heavenly hugs to people of all faiths, to encourage them to believe that God loves them, and that angels are there to protect and care for them.
I have since written seven more books on angels, miracles and answered prayer, and I send a new story to my mailing list every other week. (It's easy to sign up--just click the website address above). I have also been helped by Beliefnet who publishes some of these stories, and encourages me in my goals. I'm hoping to meet many of you, especially those who may need some comfort or encouragement as we discuss the miracles happening today.
