About Me
On LOA from BN ... Happy Summer to All!
I've used my unexpected "retirement" as an opportunity to keep within my long-neglected comfort zone involving people, activities and interests and especially to care for my grandkids. I worked long hours for so many years and though I loved my work I *so* appreciate and enjoy my respite, as well as the flexibility and freedom to do as I choose.
Attributable to family circumstances, I was given the opportunity to travel extensively, often to untoward places, rather than to the typical destinations that most tourists choose. I have seen, too clearly, considerable suffering and strife which still affect me, now. One can't fully comprehend unless actually having *been there, to witness.*
I joined BN in 2001, as I found its discussions to be interesting, stimulating and varied. I can be outspoken as I feel passionate about so many subjects. I am more realistic than fanciful. I believe so much in life has to do with the "luck of the draw" which can turn either way, with or without personal input.
I feel empathy for the disadvantaged versus those who strive for excess or abundance and, at the same time, consider themselves to be one of God's "special" people, *or* groups. I believe, to my core, that He does not discriminate between *all* his children.
I have difficulty with those who feel driven to attempt to convert me to their particular religious beliefs or spiritual pathways. I believe we all worship the same God in different ways, and that there is not a singular, narrow pathway to the beyond for only a specfic, overly-confident, small percentage of mankind.
God so kindly and thoughtfully endowed each of us with a brain, this being for a purpose, rather than to treat as a lump of protoplasm. One might as well put this to use to the utmost of one's ability as well as for the sheer joy of thinking!
I strive for independence and perseverence and often pray for fortitude to accomplish what sometimes appears particularly challenging, for me, or even contrary to my nature. I am, at times, considered to be headstrong, which can be a drawback a well as a blessing. Despite this, it's a trait I feel grateful for, though I can't say the same for certain others, lolol.
