About Me
Hi!
I love Jesus Christ!
PLEEEEAAAAASE!!!! ASK ME QUESTIONS!!!
I will post all questions asked and responded to in my journal, I will of course, remove all personal information... so ask away!! Answering questions forces me to learn as well, and I promise you I will never be so arrogant as to think I need to stop learning.
I am beginning to write a debate program at www.TheTreeOfReasoning.com to hammer out all possible religious and philisophical ideas with a focus on accountability for choices made and beliefs held.
I do not try to condemn anyone for any reason, I would just like to make comments, post questions, answer questions and meet some awesome people of any faith with love in their hearts.
I do not want to push my own beliefs, but it is my and should be everyone's top priority to search out, recognize, and embrace reality. The best way to discover and share reality is to have open, honest conversations where everyone can bring any and every view to the table. I am willing to change my beliefs and opinions if I discover or am shown a greater Truth than I've previously known or comprehended... are you?
I am happily and faithfully married!! We have our own 3 year old daughter and 2 older step children that I've adopted as my own.
Say "HI!!" if you like or make any type of comment, nice or harsh... for:
The Truth is its own defense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God Bless you and yours forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever...

Below is my first journal entry, but I noticed that with each subsequent entry it would be pushed down the list. It should, however, probably be read first... so here it is:
WHY I CHOSE TO BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST
AND WHY I CHOOSE DAILY TO REMAIN ONE
The first experience I had with Beliefnet was from a delightful agnostic who asked me to share my faith about Jesus Christ. What began as a paragraph ended up being four or five pages long and could well have gone on forever, lol. I thought it summed up my thoughts about the reasons for my beliefs and perception of reality so I now post it here for anyone to read, to be inspired by, to critique, or even to chastise. Please feel free to comment with anything your heart desires - For the Truth is its own Defense!!!
Here is a little bit about me and why I believe in Jesus Christ. I grew up in a Christian family, but never really learned much about Jesus and I just kind of took it for granted that I was a Christian. I moved out of state when I went to college and I then decided to really question my faith and everything that I believed in.
I studied a “world religions” class through my university (University of Nebraska in Lincoln) and it exposed me to the main and many different religions and ideas. I had people of different faiths come to my dorm room to give me their takes on God and reality - I even pitted some campus crusaders against some Mormon missionaries... it was pretty funny to see them 'civilly disagree' and leave in a huff, lol. I've studied science and evolution, reading books for and against the theory. I've read a good number of religious books as well, but most importantly...
I decided to be true to myself and to be honest in my search for reality.
After writing that last sentence I got up and took a break for a bit from writing this letter, but I continued to think about God and why I chose to and continue to believe in Jesus and I had a major break through - just now. This is one of the reasons why I love to share my faith. One, it will hopefully lead you to salvation and I will have another eternal friend. Two, it always makes me more aware of my own beliefs and leads me to new revelations in my continual search for truth and awareness. Three, it makes God happy and I Looooove to bring Joy to God. (Who, as I will subsequently prove is very real, for I would be quite insane to try and bring Joy to an imaginary person, as some people believe He is)
I just now realized that there are only two main steps of faith needed to believe in Jesus Christ, and it does not have much to do with Him at all but with this: "Do you believe that there is a God? AND, Do you believe that God is Good? that God is Love?"
I just now realized that these are the two steps of faith that I originally took when re-evaluating my entire system of beliefs. I decided to try and 'wipe my mind clean' to start fresh, to learn as many views as possible, and to ponder about as many ideas as I could from my own perspective as well. After doing that I chose to:
1) Believe that I and the universe were purposefully created and that we were not an accident. This seems painfully obvious to me, especially when I try to create my own things, anything - music, pictures, letters... It took thoughtfulness and creativity to make this. If not then... jkjfwefasdifjaoesin;gt aeshpfasjefoianef hadsijfaeowfaesfn;asdkjfpasierhjv;ewonfawedvhpdfhaoerisf
...never ending nonsense happens.
2) I chose to believe that Love is the end purpose of creation and that everything, all good, all evil, our creator, our world, our global situation, life, death, pain, pleasure - EVERYTHING - is here and is happening for the ultimate, end, eternal benefit of LOVE.
So I took the position of an Agnostic myself. I believed that there was a God and that He was Good. Since He was good, I believed that I could pray to Him and ask Him to lead me to Him and that He would answer that prayer for me. I was not praying to Jesus, I was praying to an unnamed, unidentified creative force of Good.
I asked God to define Himself to me, instead of me trying to define who He was to Him. I did not hear a booming voice saying, "Jesus blah blah Christ, Blah blah Heaven", lol. But I knew that God would make Himself known to me and that I would not have to force myself to create a response. He is real, and He will respond without me having to imagine a response. He will prove Himself to me without me having to Imagine that He is proving Himself to me... I was being true to myself, and if that meant giving up my lifelong faith in Jesus to find the real God then I was ready to do so, and I believe that is what God (and I later found out to be Jesus) wanted me to do.
Why Christ? Why not another religion known or unknown?
I eventually found my answer by continuing on in the same step of faith that I had taken before, to simply believe that God is Good. I thought, if God is Good, then why is evil happening and what is He doing about it? Would he slough off his responsibility of dealing with evil onto someone or something else other than Himself, or would He bear the responsibility of dealing with evil ‘on his own shoulders’ so to speak. Having this thought made me begin to greatly doubt Jesus Christ. Why would God use a human to conquer evil? It is up to God Himself to conquer evil and to protect us from evil. If God is Love, as I believe that He is, then that is what He would do.
I grew up a ‘Christian’ but I soon realized that I knew very little to nothing about the identity of Christ. I had many Christian friends in college that would continually debate with me and try to convince me of who Jesus really is and why we absolutely must believe in Him. I could find fault in every single argument they threw at me… until I realized WHO Jesus is.
Him being called “The Son of God” threw me off track for a bit, and honestly, I still do not quite understand what that means or what the “Trinity” is or how it/they/He ‘works’. What I do now understand, however, is this…
The beginning of the book of John explains the identity of Jesus Christ the very best.
In the beginning was the WORD.
The WORD was WITH God.
And the WORD WAS God. (This is a very odd statement that I never really thought about until then, the WORD was “WITH” and also “WAS” God.)
That still did not do much for me until I read a couple of lines further down.
And the WORD became FLESH.
Putting all theological peculiarities and concepts aside, such as the difference between the Son, the Father, and the Holy Spirit – what I/we need to first understand is that:
God became a Human Being and He Himself Died for Us so that We could ultimately be With Him according to His Righteous, Fully Correct, standard of Perfection. Not perfect in a ‘snobby’ sense of the word, but Perfect in a fully truthful, fully working, never breaking down or dying sense of the word – Physically, Spiritually, Mentally – in every way Perfect as God Himself is Perfect and Perfectly Good and to become ourselves – Perfect Love.
I then understood that Jesus was not a prophet talking about God, HE WAS GOD. How can a person go to Heaven and Be with God if they don’t GO TO GOD?!?! If Jesus IS GOD, then you must Go to him, just like if you want to go to Kansas City, then you have to GO to Kansas City (my Hometown by the way, lol).
JESUS CHRIST IS GOD TAKING EVIL OFF OF US AND PUTTING IT ON HIMSELF, AS A GOOD GOD OF LOVE WOULD DO!!!
(After I had this revelation I finally gave into Christ, I knew for a fact that I had finally found God and reality and that I no longer held a personal belief, but that I understood Truth)
So now, with that fact established, we then need to consider the soundness of the source it came from, the Bible itself. Interestingly, instead of booming out of the sky and forcing Himself upon us or using some other miracle of force, God chose to simply become a Human, to pick 12 ordinary humans just like you and me, to teach them about Him and to show them His Love. So now, we aren’t asked to believe God’s testimony about Himself, we are asked to believe in people’s testimony about what they saw, people just like you and me (in a universal sense). After seeing OJ’s trial this argument may sound full of error, but there are many points to consider beyond the scope of this increasingly long letter. :-D
Another point to consider is the prophetic words of the “Old Testament” (My wife says that God was angry in the Old Testament, but He mellowed out for the New one, LMAO!!! I love her thoughts… even if they are incorrect sometimes.) God is the same then, now, and forever. There were evil times that needed to be dealt with according to eternal purposes, and though they seem evil to us, as though God was being evil, we will ultimately see that those actions were needed to achieve ultimate eternal Good in the name of ultimate eternal Love. Anyways, check out:
Psalm 22 and
Isaiah 53
These verses talk about the life and execution of Jesus Christ as though it already happened. They were written hundreds of years before Jesus was born, before the WORD which WAS GOD, became FLESH.
The Old Testament is the Jewish Bible, it was not written by Christians. The Jews were given the word of God (because they, Abraham specifically, reached out to God by faith so God blessed him for it) and they were supposed to be on the ‘look-out’ for Jesus to come. Many Jews saw and recognized Him, many did not. The point is that those of us who are honestly seeking the Truth should STOP, and really think about the implications of those verses being written and then being fulfilled through Jesus Christ. That CAN’T just happen… it was planned that way by GOD HIMSELF so that we could find Him without a doubt, without having to take more than 2 leaps of Faith… That HE IS.. and That HE IS LOVE. (in fact, confronted with the existence of those verses being written, our only leap of faith now needs to be that our own eyes are not deceiving us!!!!)
…and to consider, Hebrews 11 – “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” Oh wow, I just found that verse and lets see how it applies to what I thought of just a bit earlier…
faith is being sure of what we hope for – I sure hope God is Good
and certain of what we do not see – Because I am certain He is Real!! (that’s awesome)
Everyone thinks that the existence of God is so un-provable, so debatable, so unknowable… but He has made His existence known for a FACT for those who will take the time to find Him. But the LIE perpetuates throughout society and each generation that God is not real… it is up to each person to rediscover what has been known since the dawn of time. Adam and Eve knew God, Noah knew God… Jesus WAS and IS and IS WITH God… and now you and I have been exposed to this evidence and we need to judge God Himself. All of us are Jury Members at His trial… that’s what this life of ours ultimately is, God’s trial… Ironically, however, to find him Guilty is to find ourselves Guilty and to find Him Innocent… Is to find ourselves Innocent.
There is Justice in the Universe… so we need to pray hard for His Mercy.
“Father please forgive them, for they know not what they do…”
Jesus said, “Those who honestly search for me… will find me.”
:-D Please ask as many questions as you want to! I think I will go ahead and post this letter to everyone to read and to think about… but I wrote it for you and I hope that it helps. I tried to be honest and to not force a view on you, but to show you what I have discovered… O;-D
Love,
Jeremy Turpin – The King’s Fool
P.S. After writing this letter I thought of this verse. It is amazing to me because it is basically a quick summary of this entire letter, yet I did not model this letter after this verse at all.
New International Version: Hebrews 1 (John and Hebrews are my favorite books, by the way)
In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the majesty in heaven…
P.S.S. God Bless you, I pray that our real Father in Heaven opens your spiritual eyes to finally see Him for who He truly is, so that you will know for certain all things of Love. I pray that He will soften your Heart and make your life forever fruitful and that you may bring him Joy with your lifelong Faith, Hope, and Love – and that all the gifts of Love that you give “even to the smallest of these” will be returned to you by God infinity-fold forever in Heaven and even here on Earth… in the name of His Only Son – Jesus Christ!!! -Thank you OUR Father in Heaven, Amen. ;-P
P.S.S.S. go to www.e-sword.net to download some great, free bible software.
P.S.S.S.S (lol) Jesus Loves you (and His first recorded miracle was to literally turn water into fine wine at a wedding… hmmm. That’s cool.)
