About Me

I would love to connect with others of like mind... bounce ideas and thoughts off of others, and of course, I am here to learn. I am absolutely very solid and sound in my faith in God, without a shadow of a doubt. I don't just believe because somebody "says so"; I believe because I've experienced God and God is a huge part of my life.

For a long time, after a Baptist upbringing, I didn't consider myself a Christian -- based on what I felt others would consider a Christian. In other words, I considered myself a Christian in my heart of hearts, but I felt like saying I was Christian would be placing myself amidst a realm of people that didn't really believe the way I believe. So, I just would always say "Spiritual but not religious", knowing my own truth inside... without feeling like I have to explain myself to the judgment of others -- but at least I wasn't lumping myself into a "Mechanical Christian" sort of group.

I now proclaim my Christian faith; only as an Esoteric Christian (see Esoteric Christianity Group for more info). I am finding that there are others out there like me; with the same frustrations I have (finding a church, finding other Christians that believe the same way), so I started a group called Esoteric Christianity in hopes that we can all pull together and unite.

I have learned that there are several "types" of Christians, even within the same denomination -- ranging from fundamentalist to liberal Christians (although I didn't see a checkbox for this). Esoteric Christianity is, in my opinion, a highly overlooked section of the Christian faith. It is real and it is documented in history.

Some fundamentalists may say an Esoteric Christian is not a Christian. Yet really it is only for our Creator to judge and designate.It is all in how God speaks to your heart on how to interpret the Bible... and I've found that those that judge a Esoteric Christian are often spiritually young and take the Bible literally for the most part (even Jesus himself spoke in parables and talked about those with ‘the eyes to see and ears to hear’). I personally believe if Jesus were walking the earth today, he would be appalled at what religion and the church has become for the most part.

Some Esoteric Christians believe that Christ is the way to Salvation, but that Christ stands for something other than Jesus of Nazareth.Some believe that Jesus was of divine nature, some don’t.Instead, they believe Jesus was a “wayfinder”, a being sent as a perfect example of living the right way and teaching others how to live.Some believe the bible is inerrant, others believe it has many errors.The common thread between all is the belief in an esoteric side to Christianity.We are not here to judge another’s spiritual experiences.We trust that God has everybody where s/he is on their life path exactly as they should be and it’s not our duty or right to infringe upon or shove our belief system down the throats of others.In either case, all are welcome in the Esoteric Christian group :)

These are all great descriptions of a Christian... it just goes to show... how many different definitions there are :) I personally believe as long as the individual is at peace with God in his or her beliefs of what a Christian is, then s/he is right where s/he should be ;o) Ninna, "God never changes but you do"... I consider that a very true statement, in the sense that our current concept of God can change constantly, *especially* if you are a spiritual 'seeker' ;o)

Okay... so... what about Jesus as a Wayfinder? - February 17, 2008 - 12:26 AM

What about those that believe Jesus is a Wayfinder? The Christ Consciousness? What about those that take the bible metaphorically rather than literally? What about those that do not believe the bible is inerrant? Yet still live by Christ's teachings? Still believe Christ was the son of God? What about those that believe the term Christ means something different than a reference to Jesus? What about those that believe in a mythical Christ and a historical Jesus? What about aaaalll of those people? If they don't believe the exact way one Christian or another does, that makes them not a Christian? Who are any of us to judge or to say they are or are not a Christian? Honestly, isn't that God's job?

LIke any other religion Christianity has many denominations and all these are made by us. To be a Christian who have to belief in God. Also, who have to have a clear picture of the kind of God you belief in. Ask yoursel why do belief in such a God. Once you have crossed that stage you have to accept deep in your heart that Jesus is the savior. The basic teaching of Jesus was to make you belief in God and to bring God closer to you. Once you are close to God you are saved because your belief in God ( if you have true belief in God) you will stay away from things which are bad and immoral. That is true Christianity. Jesus want all of you and not in pieces. His belief in God was so stron that he sacrified his own life. He never budged from his belief in God. Once last thing, God never changes but you do.

I THINK THE WORD CHRISTIAN MEAN CHRIST LIKE IN THE BELIEF, IN THE TRINITY. God THE FATHER, JESUS CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. WE THE CHRISTIANS HAVE SALVATION AND A EVER LASTING LIFE AFTER TRIBULATION. BUT YOU MUST UNDERSTAND, ITS THER NATURE OF OUR ADAM FORMED BODY TO SIN.
