About Me
I am an atheist who used to be a fundamentalist Christian. Over the course of my studies I came to the realization that my faith couldn't stand up to critical analysis and so decided to start over from scratch.
I joined this forum because I love to discuss matters of faith and play the (polite) Devil's Advocate. I hope that people aren't put off by my honesty about my beliefs and hope that I will be allowed to engage in serious discussions.
So, what are the benefits of having an atheist/scientist as part of a religious discussion?
Let's see:
1) I am a PhD student in biochemistry and as such have a rather broad base of general science knowledge (useful, as I can help resolve disputes or answer questions by accessing reputable literature rather than just basing everything off of Wikipedia).
2) As mentioned above, I enjoy playing the Devil's Advocate in conversations. What exactly are you going to debate if you only have one side represented?
