I enjoy traveling and photography in general, but I decided for this page I would stick to posting only photos of religious or sacred sites.  Which brought me to the thought - what IS a sacred site?  Of course there's the obvious- a church, temple, or shrine, etc. - but what about something like Mt. Fuji?  On the one hand it's just a mountain, but ask anyone from Japan and they will tell you it's NOT just a mountain.  As I was going through my travel photos, I started noticing some patterns emerging.  Like literally, I like to take pictures where there are patterns emerging.  Perhaps it says something about a mathematical order hidden behind the chaos that appears to the naked eye?  Or maybe patterns are just cool.  I don't have all the answers - that's what Beliefnet is for!  Maybe I just like to find the divine in everyday appearances - whether in stairwarys and walkways that don't seem to end, or finding perfect symmetry in a Caprese salad.  Yes, I said perfect symmetry in a Caprese salad.  Don't believe me?  Take a look!
