About Me
I was raised a Baptist but try as I might I just couldn't believe in the existence of supernatural beings. I couldn't understand how a "loving" god would condemn the vast majority of human souls to eternal damnation for not believing the right way. I love my childrenĀ and what crime could they commit for me to condemn them to that punishment? So much of what I am is based on my inability to believe in supernatural beings.
Buddhism has allowed me to pursue a spiritual path without having to blindly believe in the supernatural. Buddhism as I practice it is a path, not a set of beliefs. Buddhism is open, not closed like other religions. Meditation is simple but difficult... difficult but worth the effort.
I find fellowship through my local Unitarian Universalist fellowship, a group of open and welcoming individuals with whom I can feel quite comfortable.
Peace to you all.
