How do I praise Him when my heart is torn and broken

How do I hear Him when not a word is spoken

How do I feel Him when I am so alone

How do I find Him when my path is overgrown

I'll praise Him with my mind and trust my heart to follow 

I'll hear the silence of His grief and know He shares my sorrow

I'll feel the comfort of His vow to never leave my side

I'll find the road He's chosen when we're walking stride for stride

Faith is never far behind if I'll choose to take that step

Hope will free my life from doubt where it has long been kept

Love will find its way to me when I give all away

Oh Father, please... the days are hard ... strengthen me today

BROKEN DREAMS

As children bring their broken toys

with tears for us to mend

I brought my broken dreams to God

because He was my friend

But then instead of leaving Him

in peace to work alone

I hung around and tried to help

with ways that were my own

At last I snatched them back and

cried 'How can you be so slow?'

'My child,' He said 'what could I do 

you never did let go.'
