I do see friends, and I do work, but after a hard day, I like and need to decompress and "re-center" by curling up.Which isn't to say I can't be coaxed to dance on a few tables once in awhile, though...;)
My Favorite Books, Authors, Musicians, Movies, Preachers, TV shows, etc:
I read about 24 books a year if not more, so that's a hard call. I like fiction- Alice Hoffman, Milan Kundera, to Lemony Snicket and Phillip Pullman. I also love Marjane Satarpai, Lynda Barry, Daniel Clowes. TV: Project Runway, Grey's Anatomy...Movies: see alot of them, only few stand out:"Across THe Universe" is the current favorite.

Spiritual Straddler - I have one foot in traditional religion, one foot in free-form spirituality.
About Me
I wandered into this forum via another forum, and that one vis-a-vis my search for one of my old professors from university, where I got a B.A. in Comparative Religions. I was really excited to find out there were other nerdniks like me who find the topics of faith, beliefs, traditions and ethics stimulating and still relevant to life in this post-modern age. I'm hoping to meet friends who are like-minded in this pursuit of knowledge and their personal truths, but that dosn't exlcude anyone from any faith whatsoever. Because while I am also hoping to meet some folks in the Wiccan community forums to hang with and talk about all manner of "witchy" things ( there isn't a strong sense of community in that where I live, believe it or not; lots of infighting/competitiveness or flakiness, depending on what day it is.....), I am always excited to make friends from other faiths and learn more and gain what I can from sharing with them. I've always found in the past that building bridges is alot more satisfying than burning them, even if it's just to say, "I'm good with you , but I'm not down with that, peace to you on your journey." ANYWAY, like I said in my profile, I think of religion as a buffet- lots of pick and choose from, and there's certainly room for everyone at the table.
My Basics
Location: Los Angles, CA, USA
Gender: Female
Occupation: artist
Relationship Status: Single
Faiths:
Unitarian Universalist,
Faith Description: Religion to me is a buffet. I'm pretty eclectic so I tend to pick and choose what feels right, which is why I go to UU services and really believe in their ideas. However, I identify as Christo-pagan ( meaning I practice neo-paganism-Wicca, specifically- but I have no negative feelings towards Christianity and find comfort there too.).
