Our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil—Ephesians 6:12

During this week, pray the serenity prayer:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;

the courage to change the things I can,

and the wisdom to know the difference.

There are things that are beyond our control.  Ephesians refers to them as “spiritual forces;” Niebuhr simply calls them “Things I cannot change.”
