Hello everyone! Happy early Samhain! This year will be my first after losing my last living grandparent and my father a month apart. My grandpa passed last November and my father in December. I usually opt for large group ritual when it comes to Sabbats but this year I will opt for a private and very personal one. I was very close to my father and will use this opportunity to honor that bond. I am going to take a trip up in the mountains near where I live and have a simple ceremony with a good deal of reflection and meditation. Then home for feasting and celebration with loved ones. I am glad to have the knowledge and tools to honor my grandfather and father in this way. They will always be missed yet I know they have moved on to another level of consciousness that I one day will gladly join.

I have a rather large family ritual and then i am taking a small group of children to the nursing home i work at to put on a play for the residents there

Hi - I am new to this forum (though not to Beliefnet) and I wondered what others do to celebrate the next cross quarter day & what they call it & why (am trying to understand where different names have come from).

I will celebrate quietly with a small ritual but for other festivals I invite friends & party.
