I am extremely disappointed with this Group! Most of these so called members arent even active any more. Why would you keep a group going with the suggestion of 'helping others with ASD' or 'carers of those with ASD' and never even post any info or answer any questions. If anyone is interested in actually getting genuine support please contact the group autism support by Spirit-n-hope. I can assure you that I will not ignore cries for help or requests for assistance and will not drop off the face of the map when the site gets a little to boring for me! I'm here for the long haul and if I can help aanyone else, please do not hesitate to contact me. I do tend to get quite cranky at groups that do not follow through on what they advertise. Hello, I was just wondering if this group was still active? Blessings to all Spirit-n-hope Spirit-n-hope |

I saw the documentary Wretches and Jabberers last Saturday. It's about two adult men with autism, ages 42 and 52. They each have a helper who has worked with about 18-20 years, who only learned to communicate with others these last 15-18 years, by typing. The four of them have traveled the world as autism advocates. The went to Sri Lanka, Japan and Denmark (I believe it was) and met with other younger individuals with autism who learned to communicate the way they did, by typing. Now, the name of the film came from an autistic friend in Denmark who said we are wretches. The term Jabberers also came in conversation among the autistic friends. It might be the most moving film I have ever seen. I highly recommend it, and am sure I will get a DVD when it comes out. A must see. stardustpilgrim
