I am a 43 year old divorcee from Maine. Unfortunately I didn't marry my best friend and soul mate, I got her from a reputable breeder. She was a beautiful Golden Retriever named Scout, with big brown, soulful eyes. I have also had two lovely cats, Merlin and Scarlett.
I am a part-time nursing student and work as a medical secretary at a non-profit Home Health Care and Hospice Agency. I love my job, believe in our mission and feel I am making an important contribution to my community.
I am a former Catholic who converted to the Lutheran faith when I married my husband. I was non-practicing at the time. He was a Mid-Western "cradle" Lutheran. His faith touched my life and I will always be grateful that through him I found my way back to God. He was obviously put in my life for a reason. My ex and I used to be active in our church, pray together and say grace at meals. I miss those things. I enjoy the singe life and dating, but I am designed for marriage. I took my vows seriously and was not the one who broke them. I am searching for "The One." I hope that he can share my faith, but I am open to all faiths. I am a moderate mainline Protestant, not conservative.
As for my tagline, I believe that our animal companions have souls. God has undeniably given them the capacity for unconditional love and devotion, so why not? My idea of Heaven is a "Peaceable Kingdom."
"Mans fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so does the other. All have the same breath,(or spirit) man has no advantage over the animal. Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward, and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?" Ecclesiastes 3:19,21
Hello, my dear fellow animal lover! Yes, I am the 'mom' of Chipper( a toy chihuahua) and Chauncey ( a rescued Chihuahua-beagle mix) and if these beautiful souls aren't precious, then nothing is! You have a beautiful 'soul-mate' also, my friend. Thanks for sharing the picture! Peace!
What a beautiful tag line. I love the picture of your golden retriever--gorgeous. I love all animals too. I live in an apt. bldg. so I'm allowed 1 cat. His name is Casey. I rescued him from the pound. I recognized him as a "child" of God immediately as he gave me a kiss. I could go on about how he takes care of me when I'm depressed, how jubilant when I'm hypomanic. You are a blessing to the world October Rose. Ruth.
