About Me:
I'm a lifelong Anglican, born in the UK and resident in Canada since 1952. I'm actively involved in my parish as a Lay Reader and Pastoral Care Team member. I have served on both Diocesan and National Church committees, in various capacities.
I believe that everyone has the right to hold their own spiritual beliefs, but I confess to not understanding some of the more extreme "my way or the highway" views expressed by some members of C2C Debate. I consider myself a work in progress.
My beloved husband died in 2007, two months before our 46th wedding anniversary, so now I live with a very demanding tabby who obviously believes that my sole concern in life should be her care and comfort! That old joke about dogs having owners and cats having servants is absolutely true.
I'm a Marriage Commissioner, licensed by my provincial government to preside at weddings, and I average around ten weddings a year.
In my working life I was an actor, an advertising copywriter/creative director, and left advertising to work for the church. For fourteen years I taught evening classes in the Communications program of the Continuing Education Division at a local university.
I have two middle-aged sons, and three adult grandsons. I'm looking forward to being a great-grandmother one of these days!
I thank God for my family and friends who have given me love and support through the years.
My Favorite Quote or Motto:"God is no captious sophister, eager to trip us up whenever we say amiss, but a courteous tutor, ready to amend what, in our weakness or ignorance, we say ill, and to make the most of what we say aright." - from 'A Learned Discourse on Justification', a sermon by the Rev. Richard Hooker (1554-1600)
Mostyn, I've been delighted with your contributions on the USNP board. Was recently moved to view your profile and so sorry to hear of your recent loss. Words are so inadequate, so I'll just have to give you a virtual hug instead. (((((( hugs )))))) I grieve with thee, I am also happy you had 46 wonderful years, and grew old with your mate. Kind regards, AS
