    Hi Huskerdoc76,

    Good shot of the SR-71!

My dad's a retired USAF Lt. Colonel, Command Navigator and Missilier.

I'm currently a teacher and a former Naval officer. My middle son just finished a Naval enlistment as a Medic, which included a tour with the 1st Marine Brigade in Fallujah.

We welcome all who've "been there and done that" and can help those who are there now to cope.

    Welcome aboard Doc!

    Hi Chelseyn_7,

    When does your fiance deploy?

As a former Naval officer I know how long deployments can stress or even destroy relationships. Make a point to frequently communicate with each other. Don't project your fears on him, because I'm sure he'll be afraid enough for the both of you. Just let him know what's happening with you, and let him share what's happening with him. Stay positive and supportive.

This is a good place to vent. We're all good listeners here and we've all been through it.

If we owe support and comfort to any group of people in the USA, it is the members and families of all our Uniformed Services. They are giving their talents, their committment, and all too often their lives so that we may all live in the most secure land in the world. We still have to contend with stupid and careless people, high and intoxicated people, and all the just plain criminal element that lives among us, but for the majority these things are rare and therefore trivial. None of us has so far to be concerned about being overrun by another Country intent on changing the way we live and the freedoms, that at least so far, we enjoy. Every time you see a man or woman in Uniform, or recognize a member of the family of someone who is serving, say Thank You. If you can see that they have needs that you can help with, give them help. You will gain great honor by doing so.

My fiance is in the Army National Guard and he is being deployed in May to the horn of Africa. I'm scared things won't work out I mean we're not even married yet and we're not sure on the date but I graduate in May as well and he's afraid if were not married before he leaves it won't work out. I don't know what to do.
