Welcome... thanks for visiting. :-) A little about me...

I was really lost a few years ago -- a church-going Catholic all my life, but just not "there". I fell into a deep depression triggered by the birth of my third child and had to take a leave of absence from my job to get treatment. Afterward, I was as strong as I'd ever been, full of faith and ready to tackle anything.

Thanks to friends, students, and people here, I've found my own spirituality back. It took some time and a lot of writing... and more than a little cave-dwelling. I read my Bible every day and look to Hindi and Buddhist texts for peace as well. I'm still stirring inside; I'm still not at rest and I'm battling the chemical mood disorder every single day. And with three young children running around, it's hard to find a corner of silence to try to hear what is outside of this worldly reality. But as far as the Higher Power goes, I'm quite at peace.

Speaking of the worldly front... I'm a mother, wife, teacher by profession, author of a published novel, and artist. My husband is my earthly protector, and my best friend is an amazing blessing in my life. Most of what I like to do is pretty solitary, though I love those close to me immensely.
