Status: MemberDescription: This group is for any who have been raised in, involved with, or baptized in Jehovah's Witnesses/The Watchtower and Bible Tract Society, and who have subsequently been disassociated, disfellowshipped, or left of their own volition. Members of this group should be out of the organization, as the purpose of the group is to allow those persons ostracized from Jehovah's Witnesses to seek comfort and understanding with others of the same. Hopefully, this group will promote knowledge, healing, and validation for many who have left Jehovah's Witnesses and seek others like themselves. This is not a debate forum, but information can be shared freely. Different viewpoints and opinions will of course be included, but this is a sharing group. Your current religious beliefs and values have no bearing on being a member; all former Witnesses are welcome.
Name:Status: MemberDescription: Arising from Karen Armstrong's 2008 TED Prize wish, the Charter is a global grassroots effort to refocus the conversation around religion. People of all nations, all faiths, all backgrounds, were invited to contribute. By recognizing that the Golden Rule is fundamental to all world religions, the Charter for Compassion can inspire people to think differently about religion. This Charter is being created in a collaborative project by people from all over the world. It will be launched in November 2009. Go to charterforcompassion.org to read the world's submissions. Or inspire others by sharing your own story of compassion.
