Peace to all - Mark

Good Friday I had a quiet Good Friday.  I fasted in the morning and didn't eat anything until after noon.  I went to Polish Stations of the Cross at 8 PM.  My friend Marek and I shared a book as they ran out.  It was very nice.  After Stations we venerated the cross.  Before Stations I read the Passion.  After that I helped with the flowers in church.  I saw Father Bryan, our young priest.  He is doing better after his accident.  He is such a great guy and has a holiness to him.  The young priests are so priceless to the Church and are greatly needed.

Peace - Mareczku

Holy Thursday I went to the Polish Mass for Holy Thursday. I was asked if I wanted to have my feet washed and I said yes.  My son thought that this was embarrassing but I was honored.  I even understood the sermon pretty well.  The priest talked about Peter, and Jesus washing the feet.  He said that there is no Eucharist with the priest and no priest without the Eucharist.  I thought that was profound.  I was touched by this Mass.

A Sad Day I felt sad today.  We had sad news.  Four young men were found dead in a home from carbon monoxide poisoning.  We found out that we knew 2 of the young men.  They were 19 and 20.  Two of the guys were best friends of my son from Catholic grade school. The one boy he went through 12 years of school with.  Both boys were often at our house when my son was in grade school or junior high.  They went to a big high school and he didn't see them often in high school and didn't see them much since graduation.  Still it is very upsetting.  We feel so sad for their families.  It is such a horrible tragedy for a young person to die.  The one boy's grandmother died last year and I know that he is with her and they are reunited.  I pray for the repose of their souls.  May God bless these beautiful young men that were lost way too soon.

 Peace - Mark
