About Me:
I am an artist and art historian. I am a older person who chooses to walk as closely to the path revealed to me through study of Christian beliefs and the Buddhist walk. I teach middle school art to 6-8th grade students at a charter school in rural, south Louisiana. These students have had no way to express themselves, except through external forces. I am teaching them of their own value, how to draw and paint, and how each one can contribute to others in this world. This is a daunting task that will take years. I hope I have the fortitude to survive this difficult job. Personally, I am transitioning from being married for 41 years to being a single, divorced woman. I take full responsibility for myself and hope that the rest of my journey will make a difference to this world and its people.
Hello, I looked up "Tenets of Buddhism" and came to your profile. I am looking into this philosophy. I am a born again Christian. The things I have heard about Buddha sound so much like the Words of Christ. I have heard that one of the basic tenets is to ease the suffering of the world. That is a beautiful way to live. I wonder if you could tell me what the basic philosophy is? I am not looking for a religion or even another type of spirituality, but I am interested in any philosophy that would help me be a better follower of Christ. There seems to be a lot to learn from Buddhism. Your profile page is inspiring. I am struggling to free the artist within me and I think the work you do with your life is absolutely essential to the world. Your students will rise up and call you blessed. Aside from feeding the hungry and clothing the naked, and saving lost souls, I can't think of more important work than what you do...freeing trapped souls. Yours in Christ, Journey
