Thanks for your comment, lulu. I agree that rules are important if one has committed to live by them, and the AP report I read about the nuns did not hint at what "rules" they are alledged to have broken, so I don't have an opinion on whether they did or didn't. I disagree somewhat on AA, though. There is a difference between "the desire to stop drinking," the requirement specificed in the Big Book, and a rule that drinking isn't permitted. The Big Book doesn't say "Thou shalt not drink and all who do are kicked out." Rather than commanding that behavior, the Big Book outlines steps that are helpful for attaining that behavior. AA doesn't kick people out for relapses. Several thoughtful writers, Fowler and McClaren among them, have done work defining stages of spiritual development, and I find this to be interesting. Both suggest the importance of rules for providing individuals a sense of security about right vs. wrong depends on the stage.

Your acceptance of what is given you is His courage in you. He who suffered all things for our sake, I pray, will ease this burden as you grow deeper in understanding.. God Bless I thank you .

I want to be with Him, in this life..so that the afterlife can come alive, in my daily life! Christ suffered death so that we may live! So that we may see life as a continuum..even after we shed the gravity of our bodys. God Bless The Bible does say ,"I have come so that you may hae life and have it to the full ." I think the fullnest will be when we are face to face with Jesus . That doesn't mean that we shouldn't have an abundant life here . With Jesus in our hearts life is wonderful.Marie

PS I have teachers in my family..I'm right now listening to MSNBC..My husband was a union rep, as well as in management. And if you want ethics, how about you ask those money lenders who lent to GM and were supposed to get paid first, instead thier contract was broken? Kind of unethical, even if they have money! As for your loss, unless you have nothing in your retirement fund, you havent lost more than rest of us! PPS Id suggest some of these statements, might clarify your previous assumptions.. I believe its time, special interests need to changed for a collective good.
