Two Schools of Thought or Is there One More?

Friday, May 11, 2012, 12:22 PM [Character of the Christ]

What we have in America, is not so much a failure of communication , but people who are divided by, two very different schools of thought. One school lives as if all they do is right, not having to answer to anyone other then themselves. They believe they can do no wrong, and that those who worry about getting into Heaven, are dopes. These folks want all that they earth can give them, and although they may want to do good, they always come in first, on who will be the reciepient of that good, with the answer being, themselves first! They believe they have become their Highest good, and that the "self" they use for believing they are right, is the self of God.

The other school, is old school. They pray to God when things get difficult in their lives. They pray for others, they are focused on doing good. On attending church, on being good Christians, but for the most part, too many of them, see God as separate from themselves. They look to Heaven, at times, more than looking to themselves to make the changes needed to grow greater in God. They pray for help, while not realizing they are co-creators, who have to help change themselves, in order to get a greater understanding of God. Many of these folks, are traditional in their beliefs, yet they hold onto what is supposed to be a Way of Life, God said we should live. They are very different in their believing they are right. They believe the way of life they are supposed to live, is right. Not that eveything they do is right. And theres the difference.

The funny thing is, is that each are dogmatic in their beliefs. One wants others to learn to live by the Way of God. The other, by the way of the self enlighted man, which may not at all be in accord with the Way of Christ.

Those who see themselves as right, tend to mock the other schools thinking. When you believe everything you do is ok, is acceptable and makes you happy, why should they want to change? Why wouldnt they believe those other religious nuts are nuts? And there again is what separates us.

One school will put another down, because they believe they are right. The other school wants to lift others up, believing they arent following the Ways of God.

One is blameless, even when they might be the very culprits who should be corrected. While the other always seems to be blamed for just having a more religious belief?

One believes they have reached their success, by themselves, no God in the mix, other than themsleves. They other believes they are completely dependent on God for everything they have.

What if they both were right? What would be the results of these two very different schools? Those who believe everything they do is right, might have a very hard time accepting those unlike themselves. Those who think differently than they do, will become targets of their dislike, no matter how open minded they believe themselves to be.

The religious school, believes they arent right with God. They believe to be right with God, they need to follow certain rules, or values. They believe there  is a "way' one is supposed to live their life. And values are what they attempt to live by, because of their belief in God. They too may believe they are right, when it comes to the way they want others to live. They too can inflict their beliefs on others, and they do so by claiming to know the rules. Much like those who believe they are right, soo to, does the religious school, when it comes to God, believe they too are right.

The one difference I see between those two schools, is something a friend told me many years ago. It was in regards to people whose thinking was always negative. Filled with worry and cynicism when it came to what they could achieve. She said, " at least when you look at something in the positive, you have a chance". What chance can you have, if everything you think, is negative. Its the same statement that CSLewis made, regarding seeking heaven. At least ,"if you seek Heaven, you will get a little of the earth, but if you seek only the earth, you will get nothing more than the earth".

One may believe they are more positive, but if they truly were, wouldnt they have a better way of expressing themselves, than putting others down? If they were so right, wouldnt they have the "right way" of communicating without being dismissive of those they see as less elite?

Of the two, I would like a third school. One that doesnt live filled with self centeredness. One that doesnt believe it knows it all! One that no matter how self assured they are, they would ask themselves, what in them, gave them that self assurance? Where did that self confidence come from? And if it came from their belief of a higher self, than in effect, wasnt it there because of God? Isnt it our Soul, that gives us our worth? And if they were truly God like in their own being, wouldnt they respect and treat those they dislike, better? In fact, if they truly were enlighted souls,  how could they treat, much less believe, others are less themselves? How could they seek to separate themselves from others, when the power of love is to include.

We are all here for a reason, neither school has graduated. Both have alot more they must learn. However, I'd like to open a new school of thought. A school where we are completely responsible for our own spiritual growth. Where ones character development has more meaning than money, knowledge or power.             Where  the wisdom of God becomes the actions of man. Where a man of integrity, is honored more, than the reciever of a Nobel Prize.

I would want my school to produce trustworthy people. People who live with God as the center of their lives, instead of them being  selishly, self centered.

I want the graduates of my school, to be known by others, because of how truthful they are.

I want an army of Christians who fear nothing greater, then the loss of their soul.

I want people to stop telling others to be peaceful and loving, but instead as them to live  peacefully with so much love for another, that others will yell to the rooftops, about their example. I want them to begin this example within their familys, so that all who know them will see the fruits of their soul. So that they may leave the earth, with no more work to be done.

I would like a world whose heart is in a constant state of GRATITUDE. Gratitude, because they have come to realize, all that is GOOD comes from GOD. All they believe they have achieved is only the egos reflection, and when that ego dies, they then will know the truth!

I would like a world where Christ would be loved more than those on American Idol, etc. Where His being would be what every child would want to be like, when they grew up!  I would like my school to be one that teaches others, only by example! Never having to say a word, but instead, by LIVING EVERY ASCPECT OF HIS WORD.
