When we look at something so beautiful words cant express, or when the beauty we see, places us in a uplifted moment in time. One of the words we use, after we have felt that expereince, we call AWE.
Some get a sense of reverence, so beautiful that it speaks of another place. We see it most times in the beauty of nature. For we can see the invisible , which is exactly what we are experiencing in that moment. Trees are always around us. Beautiful places exist, yet none of us walk around in that constant state of awe. Nor will all people see or feel that feeling with the same sense or degree.
For those who have little appreciation for classic art, may not see beauty when they look at a Monet? And although beauty can be found in many things, most of us can say, they dont always give us that feeling of being held for a moment in beautys light.
When we experience these moments of awe, or reverence, or the sense of the sacred, we are doing just that. We are experiencing, something beyond our nature. Otherwise, we would be having those feelings as a constant. So what creates those moments of our being held in beautys light? Are we the recievers of light in those moments? Are we touched more by something invisible, or by the very things in nature we can see every day? We can look at pictures of trees, or works of art all day long, and then comes along the one thing that captures all our attention. Something we say OMG! Something that gives us a sense of the invisible. SOmething that may take our breathe away. The same thing that gave us the breath, can in that moment take it away, by its beauty!
Being awed, has little to do with us, we are witnesses to it. We didnt create it, we feel a sense of appreciation, that we are able to witness it. It is not of mans doing, it is of God. The beauty doesnt come from a picture being registered on a cornia, it almost comes from the very thing we can not see! We have no awe within us that we can call up with just by a word. We cant make others see us in awe! Yet we can expereince this feeling. We can in one moment, see, feel and experience beauty, exhaultation, and be humbled in awe.
Those moments are when we allow ourselves to be humbled by our Soul. Those moments are live in us as the essence or feelings of our Soul. Its a soul connection, or even more a transmition, of something that lives beyond our nature in a world we get a glimpse of, when we sense, the sacred.
Seek the sacred more in your lives, and you will feel more, the presence of God.
