    My Story

In 2004 I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.  Before that time I was extremely active in my church.  I taught middle school age class both on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.  Several years I co directed VBS and even started an outreach program for the children in our church area.  After my diagnosis, things changed.  Every month until May of 2006 I  sort of infection, ie. sinus infection, bladder infection, ear infections, etc.  Every infection brought major fatigue. I missed so much work that it is only by the grace of God that I still have a job. Simple outings drained me as well.  For example, the teachers of my class took our students to the beach for the day(6 hours) and I was in bed for the next 3 days. Eventually, I felt the need to resign my position at church.  I barely made services.  Going to work proved to be very difficult.  I had to apply for FMLA because I used all my sick leave.  One Sunday I went to the alter for pray and believed the Lord touched my body because the infections began to cease and iIgot some of my energy back. However, if I overexert myself I will relapse.  Last month I missed a week of work because I could not get out of bed.  I was so  weak.  Then this month I got a sinus infection and missed 2 days.  Because I have missed so much work and have used my leave, I have to use FMLA when I am absent.  I do not get paid.  I have missed about 4 weeks since July. It has made it very hard financially.  My husband does not fully understand and get frustrated when I can not make it to work.

This year I have developed gastroparsis.  My stomach does not empty.   It made me very ill.  Missed more work. Also, casued me to develope diabetes. AND, that is not everything but I do not want to sound like I am complaining. God has been so good to me. I am very blessed.

I want a place to share information, encourge and pray for one another. We need to know that we are not alone and God does love us. This just happens to be the cross we have to bear.
