When I was out in the world, all of the holiday seasons I would sit on a bar stool and be miserable. Depression was rampant, and still is in places like that. People are thinking about lost loves, loved ones that are not in the world anymore, the lack of money, so on and so on.
Well, I still tend to get depressed, because satan is out there to steal, kill, and destroy. He is not going to give us a break even though our lives have changed by the grace of God.
2 Corinthians 10:3, 4, 5, says, "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretensions that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."
Therefore, my point is that when we get depressed we must focus on Jesus and His words. Open the Bible and find the prescription for an anti-depressant remedy. Treat it like your worst enemy and kill it with the word of God.
