[WHEN SOMEONE HURTS YOU
Keep it Sweet, Please!
Why is it that we humans tend to dwell on our hurts in the midst of trenmendous affirmations of love? Maybe it is because of that one lost sheep, who among hundreds, is now lost, and you mourn the loss because that sheep was just as important to you as the hundreds..... life demands that we take the bitter with the sweet, no matter how much more we prefer the sweet.... Reflections on emotions. Dear Lord, help me to appreciate the bitter, for if I do not know the taste of bitter, how can I really appreciate and savor the taste of sweet? Amen

On Beliefnet I have found a great deal of encouragement! I am grateful for the many people who have taken the time to express their warm feelings toward me. Beliefnet has become family to me. I live alone with my cat "Malley", and I find that I am excited to check my mail each day to hear from my new friends! I can only say thank you Lord. You said that you would never leave us comfortless! I pray that each and every soul on this site finds joy, love and comfort!

[HOW TO KNOW GOD
SOMETHING TO PROVE!
Have you ever felt that you had something to prove? I was fancinated by the man who wanted to prove that the ark was real and possible - so he built it! (See Picture)
"I often am trying to prove that I am good enough, worthy enough or acceptable enough, today I pray that I just be me - knowing that you love me just as I am." After writing these words in my journal, I went looking for a devotional that was related to my thoughts, and I came across this quite by accident, at least that is what I thought at first, and then realized it was no accident. Lord, thank you, this is so very TIMELY.
Taken From Discovering Joy - A Heart For God Devotional by Marie Chapian
For you will go out with joy, and be led forth with peace. (Isaiah 55:12)
Joy and peace are in Me: There is little satisfaction in attainments apart from Me. Do not let doing take first place over being. Attainments, accolades, awards and prizes pass away and are forgotten --- but our relationship remains. Your reward lies far beyond temporary flattery, and human gratitude. When you are one with Me, our achievements dance around us like jewelled children. 2 Corinthians 4:18; Ephesians 6:7-8; Daniel 12:3; Isaiah 51:11

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.....
The Flower Covered Road
Sometimes the roads we travel can be rough, and stone ridden. We have all seen a sprig of grass growing through concrete, or a tiny wild flower growing in a stony area - I suppose this is God (and nature) saying that "All things are possible to those who believe." It is also a way of saying "where there is a will, there is away."
Help me take this life day by day, stone by stone, and brick by brick! Amen
ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE!
I have found that all of us, in some way, have imperfections - as we grow and learn, many times we are able to overcome many of them. With Our Heavenly Father's help, love, and support, I have overcome a few, however, I have more than a few left to overcome.
There are many types of imperfections and the following story is about a puppy who had a great imperfection and has overcome.....The owner named the puppy FAITH.
The puppy in this picture was born without front legs. With the help, encouragement, and faith of the owner, the puppy learned to walk upright like a person.
Faith's story reminds me of my relationship with the Lord. I started out with many imperfections that crippled me, and with the help of His Devine love, I have learned to walk...not perfectly....but I have learned to walk. There are times I wonder if I have learned anythng at all.... and then I remember times past, and I am grateful for the progress.
"Today, Lord, I know that there is still a lot of progress to be made, but I just want to say thank You for what You have already done. You are the author and finisher of my faith."
