I' brobrooz1, been with b'net sine 2000, but recently back from a little vacation from it... i'm 63, 5'8'' 220lb. because of a kidney condition, lost about 40lbs over the last year. Since I have gone on PD Home Dialysis (Google 'DaVita' for more info), my wt has begun creeping up again. Darn! My diatition says I gotta eat 3 a day-which don't help atall! The rest of me is in my profile.

Welcome Brobrooz1 ! We are here to support you. Eating 3 a day is fine if what your eating is healthy and you are snacking on healthy options and not processed food. Best of Luck to You! Marion |

It is better...My 'morning jammie weight' is down to 208 now, and gradually falling. getting used to the 3 a day, and seem to have found the right combo. Pretty much knock out an infection the cats gave me with anti-biontics, prayer and being more careful... chuggin' along, life is good! |

Eating three meals a day, at least, is important to keeping your metabolism on an even keel. I eat three small meals with three snacks in between. It keeps me from getting hungry, and my metabolism chugging along. What did you do before with your eating pattern? I'm glad to hear that things are going in the right direction...yeah!!! |

I can understand your weight gain, because the difference between hemodialysis and PD is you can pretty much eat what you want on PD. High fiber is good for filling you up so you don't want to snack. Try doing light exercises as well. I am a newbie too. I have to have somebody kick me in the butt and make me get on the treadmill. I am making it a resolution to start working out again first thing tomorrow! Good luck to all of us, and God bless!
