I am desperate to lose 50 pounds. I hope to find suggestions and inspiration here. I guess I do need a "Kick in the Tush"! My overall health is being ruined by this extra weight.

I have just lost 8 pounds and have 23 to go. I need to stay motivated and not binge on junk food. The older I get the harder it is to lose weight. I am also on medications that tend to cause weight gain. It's definitely an uphill battle.
I've been on a vegetarian diet since yesterday. I hope this one works. I have read on www.projectweightloss.com many studies have proven vegetarian diets are nutritionally adequate, providing healthful benefits in the treatment and prevention of chronic diseases. Vegetarianism is not anymore strange and faddish. Michelle Forbes (Maryann Forrester from True Blood) is a vegetarian too. If she looks so great being a vegetarian, I can to it too.
I'm trying to shift a stone by Christmas, and have just been to the gym for the 4th time this week - I'm on the way !
I love the 3 lb idea. Looking at the whole picture is too daunting, but 3 little pounds sounds so do-able!

Due to a short hospital stay with nothing by mouth for a couple of days, I have permanently removed that same #$%^ three pounds I kept losing and then finding! HOORAY for me! Now I'm working on the next three pounds. Thinking about my ultimate goal is too depressing and makes me want to eat and eat and eat, but three pounds at a time is do-able.
