Education must be of both the brain and heart.

One of the most important roles that we as adults have is to educate our children. It has been so from the first steps of humanity. It is not only humans who have this role it is all things.

If we do not give our young a good education then they cannot grow and prosper in life.

Along with the important act of educating the mind, it is so simple for us to forget that we also have to educate the heart as well. If we fail to do this then we fail in one of our basic duties as the educators of the future.

To be able to read and write calculate maths to learn all the great knowledge that is out there is a hollow achievement if we have not learnt to love care understand respect and appreciate others.

When we read a great play hear great music it has no meaning if we can not feel it in our hearts. See it through the eyes of our souls.

What is the point of great knowledge if we do not have a greater desire to share that knowledge to use it to the betterment of all.

Some may study law others medicine others be great writers the list goes on.

To be part of these great arts and not want to use them to bring justice peace joy to the world is the failure of our teachers to have educated the heart as well.

As they learn of these great fields of knowledge let the children also learn how they can be used to improve the lives of others.

We have a duty to show them the way forward to use the heart in conjunction with the brain to create a better world for all.
