Deng Ming-Dao's 365 Tao is a very serious collection. Finding Dao to him is a full-time endeavor, but of course we must carry on our daily activities.. I am on my 4th read this year and it has gotten me through a divorce (among other tools I have found, mainly detachment) and I highly recommend it in conjunction with Dao de Jing and Chuang Tzu. Daoism is both spiritual and common-sense. Mainly, it is non-judgmental. I am not familiar with any Daoist tales or aphorisms where God wipes out the first-born of an entire group of people. Thank goodness I don't find it there, just peace and joy and learning adaptability to change. Can't stop it-accept it. Go on. Sleep. Start over. Love. Pet your cat. Question-The dvd "Spring summer fall winter spring", a foreign film seems Daoist to me, but is it Zen in its inspiration? Just wondered what others might think.
