I am a unique individual with experience in a LOT of areas. I am a 16 year ovarian cancer survivor, mother of two of my own children and three step-children, a USAF veteran, wife, writer, poet and author. I am currently working on my second career as a freelance writer since my disabilities took me out of the work force 5 years ago. I suffer from migraines, depression, anxiety and most recently, fibromyalgia.
I have a huge desire/need to write stuff that will help this world be a better place to live.
My husband and I have one cat and one dog - both rescued from careless owners. I love soft, furry critters and even made friends with a couple of squirrels that lived in the big oak tree in my yard.
I am looking to connect with other fibromites for support as my husband is just starting to accept that fibromyalgia is indeed real, so I need more support from fellow sufferers.
I'm happy that we are now friends. I also have fibromyalgia. I believe I had it when I was in high school or maybe before that. I was always fatigued and seldom stayed for after school activities. I am 58 yrs old. The real pain started when I was in my 20's when I had migraines. I had them for 28 yr's nearly every day. I fight them still and have to be on daily med's for that. The all over body pain started after I had Scarlet Fever...from sharing an ice cream cone with my son. I thought we both had a cold. He's turned out to be Scarlet Fever, which he picked up at school. My pain is in every joint in my body and through out all limbs. If you haven't found med's that work for you I will share with you what I have been taking. Most days I have control of my pain. As much as possible. ((((Friendly Hugs))))
I also go out into my woods and take in the awesomeness of God's creations. I call it my woods because it is my back yard, which I love. When we were house hunting I knew I wanted this house because I loved the woods that are on the property. Going through the house's I kept checking at each window to see the views. We were moving from Chicago to Michigan. I needed to see something out my windows besides the sides of other houses. :)
