About Me:
I believe there is one God and He is Love. I believe He showed us how we are to live and how we will be judged by Jesus's life. I believe that message to be showing love, mercy, compassion, and forgiveness to each other. I also believe that my beliefs are an expression of my personal experience with God. I believe that it is not really possible for humans to really know who or what God is - only each person's human personal experiences.
Above is the statement of faith from my original BNet profile when I joined in 2002, and it still is my belief. I joined to escape the feelings of isolation I was having at the time, and I was curious as to what BNet was and also about others life perspectives. When I joined, I made my way to the Christianity Debate Board (although then it was the Christianity: Challenge and Critique Board - or something along those lines). I found a very warm and welcoming community, and have made some lasting friendships. I have had the good fortune to personally meet several of the posters I have met here, and communicate through email and phone calls with several others.
About a year after joining, I was asked to host the Abortion Debate Board, which I have done ever since. I now also host the Faith, Values, & Public Policy Board, and also the Discuss Christianity Board. As a result, I do not get to post on the Discuss Christianity Board as much as I would like, but do get to express my personal views from time to time.
This community as a whole is an awesome community with a place for everyone and anyone to find friends, comfort, joy, or anything that they need and desire to feel whole. I feel truly blessed to have found it.
Hey, I saw your profile and thought I'd say hi. I read your belief statement and was very touched to know that there are some that have found peace in who they are in God and knows that they are loved just for being that person. Be peaceful.

Dear Lord,
today we pray for mothers--
our own mothers, and mothers everywhere,
who have made such a major contribution
to the good qualities we have,
sometimes through genetics,
more often through great effort and patient instruction,
and who have done their best
to gently polish away our rough edges.
Lord, please bless our mothers
for the endless hours of time they spent
and the boundless energy they invested in us.
Bless our mothers for their sacrifices on our behalf
as they often gave up or deferred their own dreams
so that we could have ours.
Bless our mothers for always being there for us,
for being the person we know we can turn to
when we need comfort, encouragement, or just a hug.
Bless our mothers for making a home for us
where we could feel safe, where we felt we belonged.
Most of all, Lord,
bless our mothers for their unconditional love,
for loving us no matter what,
and for frequently showing love
in ways that make us feel valued and cherished.
Lord, please bless our mothers mightily.
Strengthen them, soothe them,
wrap them in Your infinite love
and shower them with blessings
too numerous to count, too magnificent to describe.
We love them, admire them, respect them,
and we wish that You would give them back
many times the good they gave to us.
In Jesus' name we pray; Amen.
