Status: OwnerDescription: This group is for anyone who wants to discuss what good rockin' music does for their soul and discuss lyrics that they find particularly powerful. The music of Pete Townshend and The Who has somewhat been a soundtrack to my own spiritual awakening over the past year (particularly the music from "Tommy" and the "Who's Next" albums). From what I've heard , the story of Tommy is a metaphor of Pete's spiritual journey to awareness and enlightenment. The material from "Who's Next" was meant to be in a project called "Lifehouse" which was never completed. Lifehouse was a story of reaching nirvana through rock music, and rebelling against a world where all experiences were artificial and technologically generated. The following lyrics combined with The Who's mind blowing rock has been like an anthem for me: Listening to you I get the music Gazing at you, I get the heat. Following you, I climb the mountain. I get excitement at your feet. Right behind you, I see the millions. On you, I see the glory. From you, I get opinions. From you, I get the story. (from "See Me Feel Me" (Tommy Finale)

Status: MemberDescription: Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen
