About Me:
Hi. I am 41 years old. I have 3 boys, ages 21, 15 & 7. My husband passed away 1 1/2 years ago. I suffer from the disease of addiction. I struggled with drug addiction for many years, but my husband and I got clean and led a happy life for 8 years. When he died, I relapsed, and began doing drugs again, and lost everything and everyone. With God's help, I am blessed to be in recovery and doing well. What I am looking for by joining Beliefnet is to have a positive place to visit. Chat with other like-minded people. By that, I mean, people who want to better themselves and the world around them. I am not a religous person. I do very much believe in God though. I am a spiritual person. I feel that we need to be the best person we can be to ourselves and to others.
A little poem I heard ...." oh what a wondrous bird the pelican, whose beak holds more food than his belly can. They say his beak can hold food for a week, but I can't see how the hell-he-can" (lol).

You are in a good place. I know you have heard in recovery groups that you are not alone. Losing a life partner has to be traumatic. If you do a lot of reading find a book called Embraced by The Light. It may not be on the bookshelves anymore but you can access Betty Eadie's website at www.embracedbythelight.com. This book has been quite an aid to people who have lost someone. It is a book I would reccomend. Good Luck in your recovery.
