Well, McKennah had her recital and is through with dance for the summer.  Gil's T-ball is over.  He has a trophy.  The girls German enrichment is done.  Our choir performed and is on break.  Prayer Pal is done until August.  All these things are over and I still feel busy as ever.  :)  I'm enjoying the summer though.  Beautiful days, warm but not too warm yet nights.  Sitting on the porch swing, reading to the kids.  I think I'l  make some sun tea tomorrow.  The dryer quit working so I need to put up a clothes line until it gets fixed.  We haven't even had it a year so I hope the warranty is good.  Oh well.  If not, we'll make do.  I'm so blessed.  :)371d36d75e05eda735858f8e467be99c

    Have a great day!

    Sunday, June 1, 2008, 7:20 AM [General]

Rodger went to Gilliam's T-ball practice yesterdy!  He was actually helpful and patient.  Went out on the field and helped!  I was so happy and I'm sure it was good for both of them as well!

I have a solo in the Father's Day special music.  It's not very long (5 or 6 sentences) but it's the beginning of the song so it's important I don't mess it up, ha ha.

Getting ready for church.  1st day of the new quarter.  Wish me luck!  Everyone have a great day!

    Busy Weekend

    Sunday, May 25, 2008, 2:35 PM [General]

Friday after McKennah's dance class, the kids and I went to the fair that's in town. Had fun. Saturday morning we went hiking at one of our fabulous state parks. We hiked, climbed and got wet and muddy! It was a blast. Then we had a picnic with others from our church. Great time! Came home, got ready. Went back to the fair for a concert we bought tickets for. Stood in line for 45 minutes so we could get good seats. Saw two opening bands, which were very good. The headliner was DAVY JONES from the MONKEES! It was great. My daughter McKennah loves the Monkees and Davy is her favorite. He's a grandpa now but he still puts on a great show! Then up early for church this morning. My parents bought us lunch after church, GOD BLESS THEM. Savvannah is at the nursing home right now to help give communion and have a bible lesson with the residents. When she gets back we'll probably whip something up for dinner. She has youth group tonight but I think she is going to miss it. My niece is performing with her church dance team at the fair tonight, so we are going to go to that. No school tomorrow. I hope I can sleep in because I'm exhausted. I sprained my ankle yesterday. Not hiking, I actually did it at the concert. I stepped down from A high step and just landed a little wrong. It hurts more today of course and it's swollen. I don't think it's too serious but it sure does hurt. Well that's all for now.

    Thursday, May 22, 2008, 9:34 AM [General]

School is almost over for the kids.  My day should be pretty full.  I'm going to exercise some(I gained the five pounds back).  Going to clean house.  Play with Gilliam.  I need to prepare on my Sunday School lesson for my class.  It's the last Sunday before some of them move up to the next grade so I want it to go well. My Prayer Pal Ministry is almost through for the summer.  I need to get things squared away with that.  Then I'll walk down to get McKennah.  Drive to get Savvy.  Then, probably clean more house, lol.  Rodger is pretty moody lately.  I suggested maybe he could work with Gilliam.  Help him practice T-ball.  So Rodger leaves, goes to Walmart.  After several hours ( I played with Gill at home, kept him occupied while he waited for his daddy to come home and play ball with him).  Finally he comes back, with all this somewhat expensive T-ball equipment, while appreciated, wasn't necessary.  Gilliam would have been just as happy playing pitch and catch.  Probably more so.  There was a part missing on the t-ball stand so in a huff he puts it back in the box and leaves again.  Gill doesn't understand what's taking so long, why daddy is leaving again, so I try to explain about the part.  While he is gone, I have to walk down and get McKennah from after school bible study.  So Gilliam and I go and walk back.  By this time Gill is tired.  Rodger has the t-ball stuff set up in the backyard.  I go in the house to let Rodger and him play. Not 5 minutes later Rodger comes in and says, "When he's ready to listen, he can come get me to help him.  HE'S FOUR!!!  So I go out there with him and I talk to him.  He said he was trying to listen......(maybe true, maybe not, I Don't know).Anyway, I tell him, "it's okay, let's try again."  So I have him go tell Daddy that he is sorry and that he will listen now.  So Rodger goes out there.  I wait for a couple minutes and Gill looks like he is trying.  I go back in the house and NO JOKE, not 60 seconds had passed and Rodger stomps in and says, "He says he wants to take a nap!"  So I go out there and help Gill clean up the stuff.  Gilliam practices a few more hits and then we go in.  Now I'm not saying it's easy dealing with a four year old.  And Gilliam is very outgoing and independent.  But he is very good too.  I just don't get it.  I know some people just have little patience but NO PATIENCE?  Just makes me sad.  Take care,  Jennifer

    It's a new day!

    Tuesday, May 20, 2008, 10:07 AM [General]

It's wet outside.  I need to plant the flowers I bought from my nephew's school fundraiser.  I've been putting it off for over a week.  I hope they don't die!  My daughter has a big choir performance tonight.  Should be amazing.  Songs and dance numbers.  She has been practicing so much!

Rodger isn't able to come, couldn't get anyone to cover him, even for just and hour or two.  He never turns anyone down, but I guess everyone is just so busy.  One of the bridal shops in town burned down this morning.  I drove by there and talked to my husband for a few minutes.  Yes, I was nosy!  He said they think it was caused by an iron being left on.   The fire investigators were still there when I left.  Total loss.  I guess some expensive fire equipment was destroyed as well.  The guys got in, and couldn't get out at one point.  Everyone is okay though.  Burnt through a hose and some kind of imaging camera I think he said.  It was a HOT one for sure!  Rodger was on the Squad(ambulance) today so he wasn't in the fire, but he did hang around to help when they were pulling out and putting up equipment.

I've decided to watch the movie "Hairspray" everyday.  I am committed to dance to every song!  I figure it will be a fun way to get exercise.  Besides I love the music.  LOL  Well, that's all for now.

    Well, that didn't take long!

I've gained the five pounds back! I'm a little discouraged to say the least. Frustrated! I told myself to take it one step at a time but this is so frustrating. I'll keep trying. Going to rain for about six days straight here. Going to have to exercise in doors, I guess. Schools almost out. The kids are getting restless. Savvy has a BIG choir concert coming up. McKennah's Dance recital is on Father's Day. Rodger hasn't been to one yet! I asked him not to sign up for overtime or make plans for that day but I don't know if he'll listen. At the last minute last year, he just HAD to cover another guy's shift that evening! If he misses this one it will be 6 in a row. I know that guys aren't usually thrilled about dance/ballet and the like but come on! Okay, maybe it's gaining the five pounds back that's made me cranky. :) I'll get over it, I always do. I just hope she does too.

    Let's see...

    Monday, May 5, 2008, 12:57 PM [General]

Yesterday the song/skit went well. Forgot a few words during the 1st service but thankfully since I was singing with 3 other people, I don't think many noticed. Second service was awesome! Even some of the older people in our church approached us and said they were very moved by it. I am so glad. I was a nervous wreck afterward(backwards, I know), but I'm so glad I was part of it. McKennah played an angel running around trying to get our attention while we were singing and we ignored her...caught up in our insecurities. One of the lines of the song is "I know you've cast my sin as far as the East is from the West and I stand before you now as though I've never sinned. But today I feel like I'm just one mistake away from you leaving me this way....." Near the end of the song it says, "I know you've washed me white, turned my darkness into light....." It was then that she shook me and took the rope and sign I had around my neck(we each had a different sin written across ours, something we thought that many people, even Christians may struggle with). As we continued singing she took them down from the stage to a 6 foot cross that we had placed in front and center of the stage on the floor. She knelt to pray next to it while we sang, "Jesus you know just how far the East is from the West....From one scarred hand to the other." Then she hung our sin(signs) on the cross and then knelt back down to pray....."From one scarred hand to the other." It was amazing!!!!!!

    5 lbs!

    Friday, May 2, 2008, 10:38 AM [General]

Well, I've been walking almost everyday this last week and a half.  I've lost 5 pounds so far!  Looks like it might rain today so I need to get out there for my walk before it does.  I am performing in a skit on Sunday.  Singing as well.  Savvannah, Lisa, Lauren, McKennah and I.  We are performing East to West by Casting Crowns.  I love this song.

    My sister

    Tuesday, April 29, 2008, 1:54 PM [General]

Charlotte and I have spoken at least 4 times today on the phone. It's nice to have someone to talk to about God and spiritual things. Someone who still struggles like we all do but, has a good foundation in Christ. Our relationship with eachother has seen some ups and downs but we both have come to respect eachother as human beings and be excited about our walk with the Lord. My other sister and brother are still searching and hoping that the "things" of this world will somehow fill the hole in there lives. I've been there too. But now, I can't imagine facing the day to day trials without the hope I've found in Jesus Christ. I don't want to even remember those days of feeling empty and alone. Remembering that time though, makes me appreciate how important my faith is to me now. And how present God is in my life now. Even when I'm having a "weak" moment I know that I'm not really helpless. For I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
