my mother died ten years ago..I am a Christian as well and I have a view of death that might not be mainstream, but I still believe that you can speak to dead people, and they will hear you. They might not respond in an audible way, but they will hear you. I have felt my mother's presence on many occasions in my life since she died, and seen her in dreams so many times that I simply can't believe that the soul dies or is asleep. I might be imagining things, but if I am then my whole family is too, because they have had the same experience.
