I hope I'm doing this correctly, I'm a newbie and have never posted to a group before.

I grew up in a home with lots of dogs and cats, a guinea pig, mice, and a hamster.  Lucky for me, my husband loves animals just as much as I do; we have 6 cats.  He's a 6'3" 200 lb. police officer and he babies our cats like they're infants.

I have a very special cat named Hugo (Zoe prefers my husband, Hugo prefers me, and the other four love both of us equally). Hugo is extremely intuitive; I have bipolar disoder and migraines, and he always knows when I have a headache or depression or anxiety.  His favorite words are, "Let's get in this bed, baby!"

Recently my psychologist recommended that I start meditating.  I was supposed to sit upright in a straightback chair, both feet on the floor, and concentrate on my breathing for 8 minutes.  As soon as I began, Hugo freaked out!  He usually doesn't meow, but he started meowing at me very loudly over and over, then got on the dining room table behind me and started tapping me and then scratching me on the left shoulder until I stopped.  He knew something different was going on, even though it was just me sitting in a chair!

Now I meditate sitting upright in the bed with Hugo beside me.  Now he's completely satisfied.
