time and stuff

    Wednesday, October 29, 2008, 6:40 PM [General]

Wow! I haven't been here since February.  Time just goes by so fast.  The economy is a real mess.  It's a good time to give up stuff.  Actually, I have been trying to give up stuff for a long time.  The past is really hard to let go of...ideas are hard to let go of.  Just being is not as easy as it sounds.  I was homeless a couple of decades ago.  It's amazing what you can live without.  Now, I have too much stuff.  I keep trying to get rid of it, but it doesn't seem to want to leave.

My husband, God love him, keeps bringing home more stuff.  This man doesn't like to throw anything away either.  I asked him one time, how many hammers does one handy man need.  He says, "Well, it depends on the job."  I bought him another storage shed because he was starting to pile things up in the yard...all neatly stacked and covered with a tarp.  The stuff is still in the yard and the storage shed is filling up.  He's trying though. Every now and then he will actually throw something out.

I think that I understand how my brother's ex-wife felt.  My brother has a thing for cars, running or not.  They had accumulate 5 cars in the yard, none of which ran.  One day she got so fed up, she went out with a shot gun and filled them all full of holes.  Then she told my brother to leave or his would be next.  My brother prudently decided to leave.

I am not going to shoot holes in anything, but I am done with worrying about it getting stolen.  I was setting up a new phone and Internet line and one of the questions was, " Do you have a burglar alarm on the phone line?"  "No, I don't need one. I want to put a sign out that says, Please, take it all away."

It's the year of the earth rat

    Monday, February 11, 2008, 6:39 PM [General]

February 7th was the lunar new year, and this year is the year of the earth rat.  It is the year of slow but steady progressive improvements.  It is the year to grow as a person and an entrepreneur.  I have been waiting for this year.  I think everyone has been waiting for this year.  It does mean self descipline and hard work, but it will be worth it both spiritually and financially.

    the belief o matic

    Saturday, February 9, 2008, 8:38 PM [General]

I took that little quiz.  I quickly realized that most of the answers weren't even related to what I actually believe.  To my surprise I came closest to be a Neo-Pagan.  Who'd thought!  Well, maybe my family....

    don't seem to fit in

    Saturday, February 9, 2008, 12:14 PM [General]

Like a lot of people, I have never felt like I fit in.  I always seem to be the person with the other point of view.  However, as I have grown older, I worked at embracing my uniqueness.  I have studied Buddhism for over twenty years.  I am officially a Buddhist, but I could never give up the concept of Father and Mother God.  Definitely not a Buddhist concept or a Christian one either.  Now I feel like I can't call myself a Buddhist any more.  Since I embraced the belief in reincarnation in my childhood much to my family's dismay, I didn't fit in with my protestant parents' religion.

I was reading about Edcar Cayce and psychic phenomenon before the Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan show.  I read the entire King James version of the Bible and asked my mother all kinds of questions that she had no idea of how to answer.  I remember when I was 10 years old, I asked her if Jesus could be the reincarnation of Buddha. It seemed logical to me.

Then three years ago, I saw Sylvia Browne on the Montel Williams tv show.  I had seen her before, but I didn't know who she was.  I have been reading her books.  I don't agree with everything, but she says things that I have been thinking about for years.  I knew that I have spirits around me and angels...they have rescued me enough times.  It's interesting.
