In Exodus 12:11 These are your instructions for eating this meal: "Be fully dressed, wear
your sandals, and carry your walking stick in your hand. Eat the meal with urgency, for
this is the LORD's Passover."
While reading Exodus 12:11 I realized something and that is sometimes God will give you
a word and you must immediately put it into action. God will give you a word so
profound and so unconceivable that when he says it you must immediately put it into
action before the enemy has time to make you think about how ridiculous it sounds.
Before our little finite minds can began to try to figure out how God is going to do it.
In Exodus 12:11 God told the Israelites "Now you shall eat it in this manner: with your
loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat
it in haste-- it is the LORD'S Passover." American Standard Bible
Now God gave the Israelites detailed instructions on what to do his first instruction to
the Israelites was to "eat with their loins girded." What that means is this they had to remove anything that would hinder them and being ready for the trip or to escape from the bondage in which they were in. Basically, what God was saying is "GET READY CAUSE WHEN I MOVE YOU MOVE."
Secondly, "Eat with your sandals on your feet." Normally their sandals would be removed in the house, but not here, the priority was fleeing bondage, so God told them to keep their sandals on. God is telling you to keep on your sandals because "You Must Be Prepared To Walk Into Your New Territory."
Third, God told them to "Eat with your staff in your hand." Usually, their sstaff would be put up when they were home. Again, God is demonstrating the urgency of being prepared when he says "move, go, leave."
Lastly, God told them "You shall eat in haste." What does that mean? God is saying I am going to give you a word and that word is going to come to pass but I need you to be prepared to receive my promise so when I give you the word be prepared to walk into your promise land."
Lord, Child! I don't know if you got that word but I sure did. I don't know I might have been preachin' to myself. And if so it's o.k. cause I have just learned to "EAT AND RUN."
