I was able to manually check my PC and found it is not infected. The sites to check are timing out this morning. My guess would be too much traffic.

Ensure the FBI doesn't shut down your PC on July 9

There's a chance you'll lose access to the Internet in just a few days -- on Monday, July 9.

That's the date on which the FBI is scheduled to pull the plug on DNS servers through which your PC might be connecting to the Internet. And if that happens, your PC will be unable to connect to any Web sites. Confused? Let's take a step back.

Last year, a particularly malicious malware called DNSChanger infiltrated both personal and corporate PCs across the Internet, redirecting computers to a set of DNS servers which were programmed to direct Web searches to malicious Web sites. The FBI broke up the conspiracy, made some arrests, and seized the bad DNS servers. But because a large number of PCs were already pointed at these servers, the Feds continued to operate them with clean and authentic DNS data.

How can you detect if your computer has been violated and infected with DNS Changer?

An industry wide team has developed easy “are you infected” web sites. They are a quick way to determine if you are infected with DNS Changer. Each site is designed for any normal computer user to browse to a link, follow the instructions, and see if they might be infected. Each site has instructions in their local languages on the next steps to clean up possible infections.

Facebook Alerts Users About DNSChanger Malware

Facebook will notify users who have DNSChanger malware on their computers of the infection and remind them that if left infected, they will lose Internet access come July 9.

When a user browses to Facebook from a DNSChanger-infected computer, the social networking giant will display an alert with a link to the DNSChanger Working Group’s website, the Facebook security team wrote on the Facebook Security blog on June 4. The DCWG website contains information about the malware and instructions on cleaning up the infection.

“As a result of our work with the group [DCWG], Facebook is now able to notify users likely infected with DNSChanger malware and direct them to instructions on how to clean their computer or networks,” the team wrote.

All is good so far today with computers.

I did have one of my email accounts hacked last night. So strange an email came from one of my email accounts to another one about 1:30 AM, so from me to me. I changed the password today.

Fortunately the hacked account is not one a lot of people have. It also doesn't have a lot of addresses stored in it. I use it to email myself from desktop to laptop. I'm weird like that.

I just don't understand people who create computer viruses, malware and hack into emails. They should use they knowledge for good....imo.

Not always. Sometimes companies hire hackers to make sure their systems are secure.

Dark Energy. It can be found in the observable Universe. Found in ratios of 75% more than any other substance. Dark Energy. It can be found in religious extremists, in cheerleaders. To come to the conclusion that Dark signifies mean and malevolent would define 75% of the Universe as an evil force. Alternatively, to think that some cheerleaders don't have razors in their snatch is to be foolishly unarmed.

They do it for fun and profit.

Some hackers create malware to infect computers that allows the hacker to control the computer. They organize these computers into "botnets" and they are known as "bot herders."

They can rent out their botnets to send spam, overload websites somebody doesn't like, perform computations to crack passwords, distribute pornography, etc.

When bot herders recruit your computer, you are said to have been "pwned".
