The U.S. military taught its future leaders that a “total war” against the world’s 1.4 billion Muslims would be necessary to protect America from Islamic terrorists, according to documents obtained by Danger Room. Among the options considered for that conflict: using the lessons of “Hiroshima” to wipe out whole cities at once, targeting the “civilian population wherever necessary.”

The course, first reported by Danger Room last month and held at the Defense Department’s Joint Forces Staff College, has since been canceled by the Pentagon brass. It’s only now, however, that the details of the class have come to light. Danger Room received hundreds of pages of course material and reference documents from a source familiar with the contents of the class.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff recently ordered the entire U.S. military to scour its training material to make sure it doesn’t contain similarly hateful material, a process that is still ongoing. But the officer who delivered the lectures, Army Lt. Col. Matthew A. Dooley, still maintains his position at the Norfolk, Virginia college, pending an investigation. The commanders, lieutenant colonels, captains and colonels who sat in Dooley’s classroom, listening to the inflammatory material week after week, have now moved into higher-level assignments throughout the U.S. military.

For the better part of the last decade, a small cabal of self-anointed counterterrorism experts has been working its way through the U.S. military, intelligence and law enforcement communities, trying to convince whoever it could that America’s real terrorist enemy wasn’t al-Qaida — but the Islamic faith itself. In his course, Dooley brought in these anti-Muslim demagogues as guest lecturers. And he took their argument to its final, ugly conclusion.

“We have now come to understand that there is no such thing as ‘moderate Islam,’” Dooley noted in a July 2011 presentation (.pdf), which concluded with a suggested manifesto to America’s enemies. “It is therefore time for the United States to make our true intentions clear. This barbaric ideology will no longer be tolerated. Islam must change or we will facilitate its self-destruction.”

Nothing new here.

With the Commies gone, a new scary monster was needed.

"Experts" telling the "truth" about Islam are a dime a dozen these days. YouTube is rife with their videos.

I think this is "new" and scary.  I don't believe the government claimed that the people in communist countries were to be exterminated, just their form of govenment.  And I wonder how many people advocating genocide made it into the upper ranks of the Pentagon and the civilian leadership.  The CIA has already shown what it thinks of Muslims. You have to wonder how much of this might be influencing Obama, it would explain, basically the 180 he's made since he Cairo speech and his foreign policy decisions.

Well, of course we didn't want to exterminate the Commies. Because the Rooskies were mostly white, and traditionally Christians (at least before being forced to be "Godless Communists.")

Them there A-rab Mooslims could all be whacked with a clear conscience -- becuse the have dark skin, wierd names, strange clothing -- and worst of all, they don't love the Baby Jay-sus.

Army Lt. Col. Matthew A. Dooley reminds me of Air Force Brigadier General Jack D. Ripper in the film Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. I wonder if Dooley is also worried about his "precious bodily fluids?"

That movie has one of the best lines of all time.

"Gentlemen! No fighting in the War Room!"

The scene at the end, with Slim Pickens "bull riding" the bomb down to Earth is also gut-busting dark hysterical comedy at its best.

>>>>>>>>> This makes it painfully obvious that, some dumb-a$$es have too much time to kill on taxpayer's dime.

I think it is important for America to find out WHO is exactly behind these hate filled propaganda!

I have mentioned that, there are some self-appointed Islam experts and terrorism expart who give fatwa (OpinionS) about Islam without knowing much about it.

If you want to learn about Islam, you can call Dr. Jeralk Dirks ( Dr. Dirks is a former minister (deacon) of the United Methodist Church. He holds a Master's degree in Divinity from Harvard University and a Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Denver. Author of "The Cross and the Crescent: An Interfaith Dialogue between Christianity and Islam" (2001), and "Abraham: The Friend of God" (2002). He has published over 60 articles in the field of clinical psychology, and over 150 articles on Arabian horses.)

But you are not likly to see anyone like him rather see people from this cabal.

A report on this trend commented that,

A small group of inter-connected foundations, think tanks, pundits, and bloggers is behind the 10-year-old campaign to promote fear of Islam and Muslims in the U.S., according to a major investigative report released here Friday by the Center for American Progress (CAP).

The 130-page report, ‘Fear, Inc.: The Roots of the Islamophobia Network in America’, identifies seven foundations that have quietly provided a total of more than 42 million dollars to key individuals and organisations that have spearheaded the nation-wide effort between 2001 and 2009.

They include funders that have long been associated with the extreme right in the U.S., as well as several Jewish family foundations that have supported right-wing and settler groups in Israel.

The network also includes what the report calls “misinformation experts” – including Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy (CSP), Daniel Pipes of the Philadelphia-based Middle East Forum (MEF), Steven Emerson of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, David Yerushalmi of the Society of Americans for National Existence, and Robert Spencer of Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) – who are often tapped by television news networks and right-wing radio talk shows to comment on Islam and the threat it allegedly poses to U.S. national security.

“Together, this core group of deeply intertwined individuals and organisations manufacture and exaggerate threats of ‘creeping Sharia’, Islamic domination of the West, and purported obligatory calls to violence against all non-Muslims by the Quran,” according to the report whose main author, Wajahat Ali, described the group as “the central nervous system of the Islamophobia network.”

To think that Americans would want to use an atomic bomb against people who attacked us with no previous provocation.

What a horrible thought!

Oooops. I'm confused.

Who are we talking about here?

The Japanese?

Yeah, "no previoius provocation".  We are always just standing there, at the beginning of every conflict,  and those evil bastards just attack us out of the blue for no reason.  And we are forced  to defend ourselves, of course.

This is the typical justification for all the brutalities the more powerful, who pretend to act based on moral principles,  inflict on the world.

Do you think nuking Mecca (population 1,800,000) and Medina (population 1,600,000) would solve the problem? Japan was a nation state, Al Qaeda is not. The way to react to a terrorist organization is to eliminate their leadership which is what we have been doing. Dropping nuclear weapons on 3,400,000 innocent people in response to the actions of a group of religious fanatics makes no more sense than using a shotgun to kill a fly.
