Maybe this is why men have so many words for penis. Dick, cock, dingus, one eyed trouser snake, mr Johnson, wiener, meat, etc. they cannot stand to use clinical terms like penis because they are too embarrassed. Of course I might be embarrassed too if my genitalia did my thinking for me
I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize what you heard was not what I meant...

Hate men much?
It's not insecurity, Ma'am, it's called having asense of humor.
"Finally, Mr. Speaker, I'm flattered that you're all so interested in my vagina, but 'no' means 'no,'" Brown said Wednesday.
Anyone with the I.Q. of a rock would understand that the statement was not meant to be taken literally. It was a polemical statement. It was a rhetorical statement any person man or woman with the maturity of an adult should know that it was not meant to be literal.
Now if she had said
"Finally Mr. Speaker, I'm flattered that you're all so interested in my puzzy, but 'no' means "no".
or
"Finally Mr. Speaker, I'm flattered that you're all so interested in my cumt, but 'no' means "no".
or
"Finally Mr. Speaker, I'm flattered that you're all so interested in my twut, but 'no' means "no".
or
"Finally Mr. Speaker, I'm flattered that you're all so interested in my winky" and "whoo-hoo."
I am sure being a mighty mouse that you are intelligent enough to figure out my intentional misspellings.
I am sure that even you would be intelligent enough to understand that when she referred to "my vagina" she meant the "vaginas-winkys-whoo-hoos" of all woman whom this bill would effect if passed.
And "mature" was the response of "Mr.Speaker".
I don't recall you calling Mr. Speaker a teenager throwing a temper tantrum or obnoxious, immature and snotty.
A "mature" response would be to respectfully ask her to rephrase her statement.
She was just trying to get attention, like a teenager throwingnd a tantrum.
IN YOUR OPINION.
Which is as well reasoned, mature and disspassionate as that of Rep. Lisa Brown remarks and even more mature than Mr. Speaker's reaction which almost as mature as a ten years response to being called a dirty little boy. Which was "you hurt my feelings so you can't play with me anymore."
Or
"You said a naughty word so you can't play with me.
And his reaction is going to do alot to ensure male dominice and female equality.
IMO his reaction to her remarks was even more immature, obnoxious temper tantrum then her remarks.
There are many better, more matue ways she could have made her point, instead of implying it was all about strange men being interested in her vagina
Oh reall?
Name only five ot the many better, more mature way she could have made her point, instead of implying that it was none of his damn nor the business of a woman who is Anti-Choice what a woman does with her vagina or her womb.
I could see your point when you say that your "pet peeve" is that it is not a man vs woman dichomomy. There are Republican women who also are Anti-Choice who feel that they have the morality on their side and should be able to restrict a Pro-Choice woman's choice.
My "pet peeve" is in the Pro-Life/Pro-Choice dichtomy.
It is a faulty analogy-comparison.
It a better analogy-comparison would be either:
Pro-Death/Pro-Life
or
Anti-Choice/Pro-Choice.
It also seems to me that this isn't just about the remarks about vaginas. v
It was also about
"Byrum, D-Onondaga, caused a disturbance on the House floor Wednesday when she wasn't allowed to introduce an amendment to the abortion regulations bill banning men from getting a vasectomy unless the sterilization procedure was necessary to save a man's life."
"If we truly want to make sure children are born, we would regulate vasectomies," Byrum told reporters Thursday."
Are they somehow less, or lesser, women, than those who seem to think that easy access to abortion is a hallmark of female equality?
NO they are not, but they are equally Anti-Choice as the men who want to make access to abortion very difficult.
"
"The House tabled a bill Wednesday that would ban all abortions after 20 weeks with a narrow exemption for the life of the mother after passing a bill with new regulations for abortion providers."

What she said was immature and snotty. No way around that.
Any perceptive person should be able to tell, it was not about the word "vagina."
well, this is related to the topic, after all she said those things in regards to republican males new push to have insurance not cover birth control, and the various other ways they are trying to push a women back to the 1950's,(something about some probe thing, and of course trying to stir up the abortion issue again) so here goes: I think if they want to cut off insurance covering birth control they should, to be fair, have insurance companies stop covering viagra and cialis.
All I can say is with the current stuf being tossed around I don't blame and frankly applaud Lisa for her comments.
I also will have to seriously reevaluate any females I know who would still vote republican at this point, as it would seem to me traitorous to their gender to do so.

Whatever!

I repeat my question.
If there are many ways she could have said it, name only five of them.
Any mature and reasonable person should knw that what she said and how she said was not meant to be personal. It was not meant to imply that Mr Speaker was interested in her vagina.
That the comment was meant to say that it was none of his or anyone elses business what a woman chooses to do with her reproductive system. It was not about just her v-word it was also about her w-word but about the v's and w's of all women.

Again, I know many Republican/conservative women who would disagree with you.
All women don't associate abortion with women's equality or "health care."

She could have said what you just basically said. That it is her feeling and opinon that laws should not intrude upon a woman's choices regarding her body and reproduction, and that the proposed legislation in question is too intrusive in that regard.
See how easy that was?
There was nothing mature or reasonable about what she said.
It was typical of perptually pissed-off, chip-on-the shoulder "feminism" -- which again, many perfectly proud, strong and capable women simply don't buy into.
I, personally, know many proud, strong capable women who don't see ready, easy access to abortion as a matter of "equality" or "health care."
And even if they do or did find particular legislation just too obtrusive, they could find ways to object to it without pontificating about "my vagina" on a statehouse floor.
....they could find ways to object to it without pontificating about "my vagina" on a statehouse floor.
haha. And yet, the rest of us have to put up with men's obsessions on "MY Penis" and "that chick's vagina" all the time (and of course, as a point of clarification, this means "their" penis)
Plus, no feminist considers legalized abortion to be the "hallmark" of equality.
I cannot imagine that even a far right, conservative, Christian, Republican woman would be 'embrassed' (LOL) or intimidated upopn hearing the word 'vagina' uttered by another woman anywhere.
Maybe this is why men have so many words for penis. Dick, cock, dingus, one eyed trouser snake, mr Johnson, wiener, meat, etc. they cannot stand to use clinical terms like penis because they are too embarrassed.
It probably stems from the madonna vs whore social more. Can't admit there are some who can't be taken home to meet mom even though....
This is a stupid thread. Everybody knows that vagina is the nice word that you can say anywhere and in any context. It's a Latin word, and all Latin words are respectable. The naughty word is an English monosyllable beginning with C.
