I am a responsible smoker.  I don't drive or operate machinery.  My buzz is for after a long day and I'm ready to chill and relax.  Especially before bed, as I have always had a difficult time falling asleep.  It is a natural sedative as opposed to the various sleeping pills on the market on and off the shelf.

The point I was making was don't blame the pot.  I suspect the girl in this story isn't all that responsible not stoned.

Peace

Oh I would agree.  I would also suspect that she's not all that responsible when she's not stoned, either.  The point I was making is that driving stoned and taking care of a baby stoned were irresponsbile things to do in the first place.

What amazes me is that there are so many pot smokers out there who don't acknowledge that this is a mind-altering drug and you shouldn't be driving (or trying to take care of children) while under the influence of a mind altering drug.  Geez...it's a no brainer I would think.

Have you ever smoked it?  It doesn't make one go skidzo...it relaxes you.  You don't lose your senses like you do when you drink too much.  My kids were never in danger due to my marijuana use.

One of my longstanding jokes is that it saved their lives on a few occasions.  LOL!

They are now 22 and 28 and wonderful people.

I've used more than my fair share of pot and it is mind-altering and it's not a drug one should use while driving or trying to take care of children. It may not make one go skidzo (other than some good old-fashioned paranoia in some), but one sure isn't fully aware of what's going on around them when high.

People who do that sort of thing suffer from severe rectalcranial inversion. Are they fit to be parents?

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people not fit to be parents who have kids anyway.  Just think of how many problems would be solved in the world if they didn't!

I don't know what kind of pot you been tokin' but I'm always aware of my surroundings.  Getting raging drunk?  Not so much...  Which is why I am a moderate drinker now...too many good times I couldn't remember.  Decided I wanted to remember the good times Cool

Now THAT I can say a hearty AMEN to!

In fact, there is the daughter of an old friend who has been lamenting on FB how she wants to have a baby.  (She airs EVERYTHING on FB...one of "those")  Now she is pregnant.  Not married and already airing the dirty laundry about "baby daddy".  Just started another new job after being in and out of work (like I said...FB)  Lives at home with parents.

She states that because of the baby, she'll never be alone.  Been on anitdepressants, been overweight (obese) her whole life, is diabetic, always at the doctors or hospital for something.  Not mentally or physically stable, IMHO.  And she acts like having a baby is gonna change her life and make her happy.

I can't post what I would like to because this family will go bulldog and I don't need the stress and they live away now and it's not my business...

But, I feel so sorry for that baby.  Too many people DO NOT consider or understand how much a responsiblity having a child is.  It's like a doll to them.

Done with rant...

Peace

Bottomline is that driving under the influence of drugs of any kind that affect either your perceptions, judgement or reaction time is not a good idea, wether it is marijuana, alcohol or prescription drugs.

I smoked it for a while back in my college days -- when I was single and had no children or responsibility for anybody outside myself, not even a pet.

Typically, it's something most people outgrow, like many aspects of youthful experimentation or stupidity.

Looking back, it was fun, but more or less just a waste of time. Just silly kid's stuff.

I smoked also when I was younger, but never really cared for it...kind of made me want to fall asleep...never really saw the point.
