She said something about Obama today. What I don't get is why should anyone care what she has to say about anything?

Oh, we're supposed to include a link. Here. But it doesn't really matter what she said since she is totally irrelevant to anything and everything.

Every post after the opening one was removed due to exteme vulgarity. Even with the looser rules on the Hot topics zone, crudity for crudity's sake won't be allowed.

*apologies to rangerken, I should know better*

She's irrelevent. She's also factually wrong.

1. If she's irrelevant, why does this thread even exist?

2. If she's factually wrong, why not post the facts?

This is Bristol’s actual article:

www.patheos.com/blogs/bristolpalin/2012/...

She states: So let me get this straight – it’s a problem if my mom listened too much to my dad, but it’s a heroic act if the President made a massive change in a policy position that could affect the entire nation after consulting with his teenage daughters?

While it’s great to listen to your kids’ ideas, there’s also a time when dads simply need to be dads. In this case, it would’ve been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while her friends parents are no doubt lovely people, that’s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage. Or that – as great as her friends may be – we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. Ideally, fathers help shape their kids’ worldview.

In this situation, it was the other way around. I guess we can be glad that Malia and Sasha aren’t younger, or perhaps today’s press conference might have been about appointing Dora the Explorer as Attorney General because of her success in stopping Swiper the Fox.

Oh, please!

Why is it germane where one derives inspiration? Doesn’t mean one loses independent thought as a result.

There are loads of instances where inspiration was derived from unexpected sources. Just a few:

-  Isaac Newton pondered the why and how of gravity when he saw an apple fall from a tree.

-  Alfred Nobel, after reading his own obituary (printed in error-it was his brother who had passed), was horrified that the obit included a scathing assessment of his invention –dynamite - and the harm his invention had brought to mankind.  So he created the Nobel Prize to reward good works on behalf of humanity.

-   The German chemist who deduced the structure of benzene (six-sided hydrocarbon) did so after a dream where he’d envisioned snakes grabbing their own tails.

Shall we invalidate the results of folks like these given the source of the inspiration? Isn’t that akin to cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face?

You are correct Irene, but look who is doing the argument, Palin's daughter. She is looking for a way to slam President Obama not have a logical reasoned discussion

A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle

Thank you. This thread is supposed to be about the insignificance of Bristol Palin, not about anything she had to say.

She is completely irrelevant. This thread exists because she IS irrelevant yet the media keeps foisting this brat on us.

2. If she's factually wrong, why not post the facts?

She is irrelevant. What she had to say, right or wrong, is irrelevant.

What she had to say in the article is irrelevant since she is irrelevant. Why would anyone care what she has to say about anything? She's had her 15 minutes and even that was undeserved.

...and yet you're still talking about her.

So in that sense, she won this round.
