Anti-Gay Advocates Win: Grenell Resigns from Romney Campaign
Why would any self respecting LGBT want to be a Republican anyway? Why would they want to be a part of a hate filled group that puts considerable amount of energy to take AWAY rights from gays?

What EVERgave you that idea?
How about this:
The proposal from Republicans in the Lone Star state makes the following related to the party's view of homosexuality: "We believe that the practice of homosexuality tears at the fabric of society, contributes to the breakdown of the family unit, and leads to the spread of dangerous, communicable diseases." "Homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths that have been ordained by God, recognized by our country's founders, and shared by the majority of Texans." "Homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable "alternative" lifestyle in our public education and policy, nor should "family" be redefined to include homosexual "couples." Source.
There's much more out there to show that Republicans are rabidly homophobic. If that were not the case the Republican politicians running for office would not be showcasing their hatred as a way to get votes.

... Still think the Dems hold any high ground on this issue?
Absolutely. The Democrats, and other progressives, have for many decades held the moral high ground over the Republican Regressives.

I agree David
A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle Never discourage anyone...who continually makes progress, no matter how slow. Plato.. "A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives" Jackie Robinson

What moral high ground? Both parties are nothing but self serving scoundrels.

" Both parties are nothing but self serving scoundrels." Hear here; a statement of truth and value, unrecognized by the majority.

Hmmm...glass houses and all that. At least Romney (who didn't have a problem with the guy's sexual orientation, if anything, he's only guilty of caving to interest group pressure, like pretty much every politician on the planet) didn't diddle his subordinate and then buy the victim off like he's some kind of altar boy... Still think the Dems hold any high ground on this issue?
Yes. Absolutely. Because it's observably true.
Romney and ALL other R hopefuls signed NOM's hateful, excluding marriage pledge to forever alter the Constitution and enshrine discrimination. You're welcome.

Do unto others
If you want a soapbox for gay issues why not create one thread rather then shotgunning all over the hot topics zone.
There were 4 topics I wanted to begin discussions on. Get over it. I haven't encountered much anti-gay sentiments on BNet so I find your exagerated hysteria puzzling.
Then you must be new here (or have an extremely selective memory) because I've encountered scads of it - much of it from so-called "Christians". I could make you a list.

Agreed. Here's another typical example of Republican hate:

Marcion,
Name me ONE Democratic presedential candidate who ever signed NOM's anti-equal marriage pledge. Delusional as usual I see.
